Too many shock scenes in one episode. They crammed 2 seasons worth of shock into an hour
Also raping Hughie and playing it as a joke one episode after he had to kill his dad is really distasteful. Not that raping him and then playing it as a joke at any point would be tasteful

The shock scenes used to make sense because of the powers the supes had or the situation etc.. now it's just for shock value.
for example compare superpowered lady gets caught when she gets excited and accidentally crushes a man's head pleasuring her so she can be blackmailed to this episode where we just have to watch some irrelevant dude have a second asshole that shoots webs while another thing is inserted into his main butthole and then we spend 30 minutes in a sex dungeon doing weird shit for no fucking reason
Or whatever the fuck Deep and Sage did in the episodes before

I'm here solely to see the resolution of the whole Homelander-Butcher plot. Everything besides that is either a nice bonus (if I like it) or not important (if I don't)

Also Eric Kripke was laughing it off, the Hughie scene and treating it as a joke. Apparently the cast did too. It was more egregious, more brutal than what the comics showed too. Hughie had a similar incident with a certain someone else in the comics, a more "aggressive" equivalent but it was never shown so gratituously nor fetishised and treated as a joke too and also for SO DAMN LONG!
There were plenty of similar scenes of SA in the comics though, the writers barely disguised fetish as MDT said ofc:
Considering I've experienced this kind of shit firsthand since childhood, this episode was traumatising for me to watch and I fucking hated it. I almost broke down in tears seeing it happen to him so viscerally like that. I've considered dropping the show entirely, I'm gonna watch the last two episodes but not the final season I think.
The leaker for the show even wants to quit leaking now after what happened last episode and how the cast and staff have behaved about it, they felt sickened by it.
Bunch of misandrist psychopaths, egomaniacs, typical Hollywood BS really.
They wouldn't be laughing and thinking it's funny if Starlight's equivalent moment was like this and she's really gonna suffer with these last 2 episodes regardless too. It's becoming true sadism like the comics.
The series is gradually losing its sharp satire and becoming apathetically bleak, blunt, full of immature, teenage/emo/edgelord style shock value and shamelessness, just crass, crude, overly violent, gory etc. Its all hamfisted, in your face now, flanderised.
It's like Garth has taken full control over the show or influenced the others to be as fucked up as he is.
A-Train has been brilliant along with his writing and despite how s shitty he is IRL, Antony has been amazing as Homelander as always but its not surprising why he is now in hindsight especially, Sister Sage is brilliant and hilarious, a real unexepected gem and great, unique addition. Victoria was hilarious last episode too, her actress is great. Shes dating Hughies actor IRL too (Jack Quaid ofc, son of Dennis Quaid and I just saw him in Scream 5 recently and that film was FUCKING AWFUL too my god, one of the worst films i've ever seen by far, easily! But he wasnt bad in it either, he did a decent-ish job at best.)
Karl Urban always killing it too and Mr Negan himself has been great as Joe too. Someone said he should have been the one to
put down Hughie's dad as a nod to a certain other show that Jeffrey is known for ofc and also doubling down on the whole zombie reference with Mr Shaun of The Dead/Dad himself ofc.
With Antony, I also refer to the fact that he's been bullying Maeve's actress hard and being extremely sexist to female actors apparently, I mean it's word of mouth or hearsay or w/e AFAIK but she apparently quit the industry due to what happened with him and the cast bullying her and treating her like shit. She would apparently fly home to get away from them everytime they wrapped up filming and purposely didn't spend time with them as a result.
At least the show is ending with the next season thankfully, before they milk the main series to absolute death like Walking Dead, Supernatural or Game of Thrones or w/e but hearing about all this shit going on just makes me even angrier and sadder and that last episode is still upsetting me too.
I'm worried the finale will go in the same direction as the comics too, Butcher
cutting off the leg off the scientist
shows he's really not that different from the comic one after all too. I'm really surprised they didn't go with the
clone Homelander storyline but I do wonder what they are doing with this Black Noir and the fact he can fly too apparently.
Only 1 more episode and i don't think the show even set something up to act as a good climax for the end of this season.
Let's see what happens but i'm probably dropping this show if the last episode doesn't deliver.

It was better than some of the other episodes we got this season but nothing crazy happend
There is some stuff with Starlight and A Train that could be interesting but we have to wait and see

I watched it a few hours ago
The climax is clearly the attempt to assassinate Singer and that's what they've been building up to this ep with the new dude.
Now, is it a climax to look forward to? Not compared to previous seasons imo. Which is why I hope for some out of left field Ryan action to turn things upside down, or even a crazy Soldier Boy return somehow, someway.

Just caught up. This season's been mid compared to the rest. Frenchie's plot was horror, idk what they were thinking creating it. Poor Frenchie gets shit subplots 2 seasons in a row. Anyways latest episode was decent. Lets hope the finale is really good.
