So much build up with literally no satisfying payoff to anything lol. Butcher is probably my least favorite character after this episode. “Yeah, let’s attack Soldier Boy instead of Homelander just because he hit the kid who was shooting lasers” 
I just wish he tried to run off with him while SB took on Homelander instead of immediately going after SB.
Thought the finale was alright myself and I didn't get the impression that Maeve was fodder while watching the show. In fact she's always been portrayed as second to homelander and she was doing training to fuck him up earlier in the season so I wasn't all that surprised when she was giving him the hands.
Starlight fucking sucks dude, all that powering up for her to pretty much do a basic hadouken, what the fuck was that LOL. Ryan is annoying and I hope someone offs the brat.

It's the same thing that happens with every serie that is starting to get more and more popular, it brings money therefore they have to extend the shit out of it. So some things don't make sense and some characters cannot die because they're liked by the audience and it might be good to bring them back in the future.

In comic version butcher was final antagonist . If they follow comic route he will break full bad and turn out to be tragic villain.
Well boys is still cashcow for amazon.
However i still think its fine soldierboy was to unstable to be around people . The show still needs homelander as final bad guy.

I know I am super late to the party but the finale didn’t live up to my expectations.
I liked Hughie’s realization that his dad was doing his best to raise him after his mom left. I liked how Hughie used his tech skills to help lift Starlight up. He didn’t have to be flashy and use temp v to still be helpful.
However, Starlight’s light blast was kind of lame. Oda’s fights can be silly but at least they’re creative. Also her blast wasn’t very effective. SB still got up.
Also Kripke said he hates the let’s kill of the bisexual trope, but Maeve staying alive didn’t make much sense. She lost her powers when she and SB kamikazed out of Vought tower. If she lost her powers, then wouldn’t the fall have killed her? Season 4 needs to explain that one for me.
I do think that Butcher should have taken Ryan and let SB and HL fight. I understand that Butcher is protective of Ryan because of his promise to Becca, but his about face turn felt unnatural during that scene. I think it would’ve been interesting to see SB vs HL while Butcher struggles with leaving his vengeance behind for the moment.
I know the writers wanted to push Ryan into HL’s arms, but I still think they missed a big opportunity where HL is the one who loses his powers.
All in all the finale felt rushed and I wonder if the show should have 10 episodes per season instead of 8 episodes.
Also what happened to Stan Edgar? I hope he comes back because Giancarlo Esposito is great and shouldn’t be wasted!

Frenchie, Kimiko, Starlight, MM with his family are all completely useless plots rn that don't add anything important to the story and are just there to pad out the important stuff - the Homelander plot
Anthony Starr is absolutely amazing. We thought Joffrey Lannister from GoT would not be surpassed easily and yetnhere comes this lunatic superhero that gives everyone around him the creeps. The little twitches he does, that take up a split second, add so much to his already amazing performance

this season is good but so much screentime is wasted on frenchie and kimiko and hughie plot
idgaf about them every season they have a plot line soooo deviated from the main story it’s like a different show at least they used to share the screen time now each one has their own plot, as for hughie it was not necessary to know about his mom, we are halfway into the season and not much has happened but theres a good hour about uninteresting plot lines
other than that it’s pretty good
