I don't know what u jobbers are reading so far ?

Oda stated Shanks is a swordman when he mentioned his sword skills in comparsion with Mihawk's sword skills , you ain't mentioning Luffy's sword skills with Zoro's unless you are a moron and in the same time he mentions Mihawk as the WSS meanwhile Shanks's bounty is based on a hella things besides his strength and that shit barely made his bounty above Mihawk's Bounty which is solely because of his strength with 400 million of difference .

Mihawk is more skillful and stronger than Shanks

It's pretty simple.

Is shanks a swordsman? Yes, he's a master swordsman like Zoro Is currently.

Is Shanks a dai kengou? No, Vista, Mihawk, Ryuma and Ushimaru are.

So yes, Mihawk Is more skilled than Shanks, but Vista Is as well.

Zoro's dream Is to become the strongest dai kengou.

So ?
Mihawks title is wss
Zoro wants that and to be the best swordsman in general

Zoro's dream is to become the "Greatest" Daikengou and the "Strongest" Kenshi.

Which is referenced in Mihawk's two titles - Sekai ichi no Daikengou (Worlds Greatest Swordmaster) and Sekai Saikyo no Kenshi (Worlds Strongest Swordsman).

In Zoro's view, both those titles are the same - he basically tells that his interpretation of the title is to NOT lose to any Kenshi.

How many more threads will people make to cope?

Mihawk is the World's Strongest Swordsman. That means he is stronger than every other swordsman in One Piece. Not, he's only stronger than great swordsman or samurais.

This is just a new "Shanks is not a swordsman, he's a hakiman" BS repackage.

Strength and skills go hand in hand together. Take Katakuri for example. He possesses CoC, but he doesn't have the skills to infuse his attacks with CoC. Just by obtaining that skill he would become much stronger.

Yes, there is some ambiguity when it comes to swordsmanship, one cannot deny that. Mihawk being said to have better swordskill than Shanks rather than calling Mihawk straight out stronger or more powerful is something people rightfully bring up, which is further amplified by King refusing to call himself swordsman.

Shanks was Mihawk's rival, he was and is a skilled swordsman. But one could very well argue that now Shanks channels his powerful Haoshoku through his blade in a manner resembling more Kaido's usage of the club. Divine Departure too was a shockwave based move.
The manga does tell us Mihawk is stronger. His WSS title does that for us. I don't understand why this is so hard for people to understand.

If I come in first place in a race the announcer doesn't have to say I'm faster than my competition because winning the race proved I'm faster.

Being more stronger than somebody doesn't mean you're more skilled than them. The manga telling us Mihawk is more skilled let us know not only is he stronger but he's also more skilled than Shanks.

Yes, Shanks can infuse attacks or use ACoC just like Kaido and Zoro. Good for him.

?
Oda doesn't distinguish between skill and strength
As shown above to get stronger oda uses both
The fact is mihawk is superior to shanks with a sword.
I'm not disagreeing, necessarily, I just point out that it is justified to question Oda's terminology. Saying Oda sees no difference between swordskill and power level and uses those terms interchangeably isn't accurate. The Databook said that Vista has swordskill "comparable or above Mihawk" and the Ace Novel had Marines compare the swordskill of Mihawk, Shanks, DR Zoro and Vista. And both vivre card and novel are considered canon and are supervised by Oda.

You cannot rationalize your way out of this.

The very fact that Zoro keeps saying "ill get stronger" and doesnt say ill get more skilled should tell you everything you need to know

He has though ? Even in the op zoro has talked about skill and strength multiple times both used when he talks about getting stronger.

The terminology is irrelevant in this instance as the whole statement only works if Shanks is just a swordsman

Nah - Zoro is dumb. Dude wants to grow stronger instead of getting more skilled. No way he is becoming WSS now

Wait...even Mihawk is dumb

He called yoru - Strongest sword and used it to to fight zoro because he was impressed by "Zoro's STRENGTH" and not skill

So, even Mihawk is delusional.
