I am NOT saying Sanji has no further room to improve his AP from a physical standpoint, but we are at a point where Sanji basically needs to evolve his Haki to really take the most advantage of it, similar to how Luffy paired his physical gains with advanced CoA gains.
I believe learning CoC Infusion will make CoA Emission more intuitive.
Likewise, I expect the application needed to defeat HK to be very similar to CoA Internal Destruction.
All this to say: Sanji and Zoro may the end arc with a bag full of Haki techniques to take them into lower echelons of top tier.
Quite a lot, actually. We've not seen the full extent of current Sanji's power and abilities.
Remember, Queen managed to deal a lot of damage to Sanji before his awakening completed because it initially compromised his ability to fight. Once that was completely over and he unlocked Ifrit, Queen got blitzed.
Days later, a fresh Sanji managed to do this to a flame-on S-Shark WITHOUT his Germa abilities.
Putting his performance in stark comparison to his crewmates, Lucci and Kaku.
I have no doubt Luffy and Zoro are capable of matching the feat of a motivated Sanji, but the point I'm is that the choice to allow Sanji to shine here was, again, a deliberate choice by Oda to highlight Sanji's newly acquired strength. This further underlined by his choice to firmly establish a Germa-enhanced Sanji is more than capable of physically dominating Seraphims.
The reason Sanji had the AP to deal with Seraphims is speed, which as it so happens appears to be the only awakening-buff Sanji retains passively.
Speed boosts AP.
While Kizaru will likely never be surpassed, Sanji was already a burgeoning speedster by Whole Cake Island.
His Germa awakening took that a whole other level, and we've not even seen him go invisible again.
Sanji's speed is, by feats, the second fastest in the verse.
It logically follows his speed boosts his AP accordingly.
It probably always has, at least to an extent, because Sanji's AP was impressive well before Haki came into the picture.
Now bear in mind, we've not seen Sanji pushed to his limits in a fight since he's awakened this Germa abilities. We've not seen the full extent of what he's capable of by any measure.
It doesn't help Oda had Sanji Germa for IJ one chapter and not in the other.
Doesn’t matter similarities wise. (You weren’t around for this but people used to push franky with help to fight Queen due to similarities)
It’s Lafittes role in the crew. Lafitte is regularly shown as one of the most important members of BBs camp and has the most impressive showings. Finally ever since pudding got kidnapped this fight became obvious imo. Puddings going to be tortured to try and get her to read the road poneglyphs by Lafitte. Lafittes the only one who can make a map based on what’s on the poneglyphs and historically was known for brutally beating prisoners for fun. The fight narrative is pretty on par for how Sanjis fights usually go.
I think the reason folks prolly conflate PoL & Haki is coz of Garp’s fist of love pre-ts but that was probably just a figure of speech from Garp & simply armament. Moreover hurting rubber Luffy is not exactly bending the laws of physics. There’s no comparison to kinda feats Sanji & Kuma have dished out with it. Plus I think it’s unlikely Oda had thought up PoL that early in the series. Not to mention that PoL seems to be the actual ability of the buccaneers if Vegapunk’s comments are anything to go by, so it shouldn’t really be something anybody can use and I think the missionary of love in Scopper showing know signs of it is evidence of that. In Sanji’s case however, his lineage factor is basically an X factor atm. Plus given Sanji shares a characteristic trait with the lunarians and now the buccaneers can’t help but feel that it’s a too much of a coincidence so it seems like Oda is giving Sanji abilities from ancient races.
Also on PoL, if anything, it’s more similar to Gear 5 than it is Haki if we just consider the sheer ridiculousness of it, so it’s roots might tie to the original Nika

This would make sense especially if the Buccaneers really do possess it naturally as well (like Kuja women naturally possessing and being somewhat skilled at Armament Haki and the young girl from Skypiea being skilled at Observation Haki), since they're also heavily connected to Nika.
Still not certain if Oda would do it but I think if he did there's a lot of potential with it
Yeah, what Gaban told him off-screen might have something to do with his ability to kick Kizaru's laser. That or he told him he's holding back because he's afraid of the demon inside him.
Gaban's CoO must be really crazy for him to be able to figure out something like that without even having seen him fight.

I really doubt Gaban can just sense that stuff. I think he told Sanji something that hits hard like “You better or you’d be useless to your captain without it.” Sanjis whole character arc is about him wanting to be of use to others rather than choosing what he wants after all and slowly breaking that part of him.
