We're literally fucking told that he did do so. The explanation Hyogoro gives for ACoA is the exact same as the one Koushirou gives in the Alabasta flashback. Come on now.

Even so, this doesn't mean he'll have a full high or extreme diff fight against him.
Law had a heavy connection to Vergo yet Oda made him neg diff Vergo in the same arc he was introduced, for example.

Which works well since Law and Vergo fought before the Doffy arc. But unless you think Coby is going to fight Pizarro before the BB arc it’s not the same.

But, at this rate I doubt there’s going to be an arc where SWORD fights the BBP before the actual BBP arc.

Which works well since Law and Vergo fought before the Doffy arc. But unless you think Coby is going to fight Pizarro before the BB arc it’s not the same.

But, at this rate I doubt there’s going to be an arc where SWORD fights the BBP before the actual BBP arc.

But the point is that in an actual war arc, oda isn’t going to draw someone low or mid diffing their matchup. That’s never been his style.

Because it's worse than if Koby simply fought Kuzan or beat Blackbeard with Luffy, plus it doesn't make sense power level wise since Koby's going to be an Admiral EOS, I can't see any Admiral even on their worst day being pushed that far by YC3 level Pizarro

He’s not touching an admiral level character, but Coby isn’t there yet. And yeah give me a few minutes to find them.

The point is Pizarro is a chance for Coby to grow.
Coby as he is now is fodder to an admiral -> Will grow to being a closer fight for an admiral -> Will fight someone in the final war to grow above the admirals.
