Speculations Usopp is Luffy's YC4

Marco was an apprentice at the time of the war, along with Vista. Jozu wasn't even a prominent fighter (not shown in the lineup). Apprentices aren't gonna be taking on the main fighters. Whitey Bay/ Rakuyo and others were the ones who were directly opposing Ray/Gaban/etc in the line up. Then we have Rakuyo specifically being made to stand out with sitting next to Whitebeard when Oden joins.

If you look at the lineup, matchups were probably:

Vista - Taro
Atmos - Nozdon
Epoida - Petermoo
Marco - Doringo
Islewan - Millet Pine
Andre - Ganryu
Rakuyo/Whitey Bay - Gaban
Whitey Bay/Rakuyo or Oden - Ray
(There's Oden of course as well, who more than likely would've taken on Ray, leaving Whitey Bay for the next strongest after Gaban, but this is just based on the line-up or Rakuyo & Whitey Bay vs Gaban)

Then we also have Teach later on when Marco/Jozu/Vista were picking up, wasn't portrayed any inferior to them:

So that's shit ton of dudes around similar powerlevel who were under Whitebeard.

I don't think Nami did improve. Oda hasn't given the mid trio any focus. However, Robin would end Nami instantly. So would brook. Franky probably would as well but like I said, Oda hasn't focused on him since the señor pink fight.

Zeus was really only OP because Big Mom was wielding it.

Reasons:
1. Usopp has to surpass Yasopp who is YC3 of Shanks crew.
2. Yasopp will probably die during Red Hair crew vs Black Beard crew war. And he will pass over his Rifle to Usopp which is his Enma/Raid Suit equivalent.
3. Yasopp's death will trigger great personal growth in Usopp.
4. Zoro himself said to Pica that there is more to Straw Hat Crew than Pirate king Luffy and God Usopp, foreshadowing Usopp's future importance.
6. Usopp lied about having CoC and we know that all his lies have come true.
5. It will be awesome if the normal looking members are more dangerous than monsters in the crew.

Usopp's dream matters because he is weak. As in him being brave only matters because he can easily die.

For Usopp to be top 30 stringest characters in the verse, you are advocating for his dream to either not make sense anymore or for him to no longer have that dream

Well yes she is certainly not above Robin

That was my point about Usopp though. In a 1v1, anyone decently strong can beat usopp in a fight. But the thing about Usopp is that due to his intelligence and his fighting style, he never actually needs to fight in many 1v1s and outside of 1v1s, he can easily beat people who would otherwise destroy him in a fight.

Hence as far as 1v1s go, Usopp is the weakest, however overall, he is more dangerous than any of the mid trio. He's essentially like the batman of the straw hat pirates.
