Controversial Wano is the same length as DBZ from start to Cell Saga.

I mean, it is a manga for teenagers, and we are discussing this in a forum dedicated to another manga for teenagers as well lol. DB doesn't have much of a theme either, and it shines because it lacks any bloat or unnecesary complexity. I just don't think DBZ can be reduced to that, recently i reread it up until the Cell Saga and both the characterization and the stakes are very great.
I believe it has become easier to shit on DBZ because Super destroyed most of the good stuff and charm the series had.
Super is still pretty solid tbh

Dbz really does have the better cast of characters. People actually remember them.

All those Wano characters and barely anyone gives a fk about 99% of them.

It's also no wonder the Dbz games sell 10m+ to whatever crap One Piece games sell, simply cause people prefer the Dbz characters over crap like Kaido.
Because there were less dudes:ihaha:

Lolda's decision to sideline Kaido and his crew, in their own arc, in favor of highlighting a dead character who happens to be the author's pet like Lolden and a bunch of Wanonese only Lolda himself cared about was mind-shatteringly stupid.

I still hate that some OP fans say that Luffy turning gear 5 is a better moment than Goku going Super Saiyan.
They remind me of the chumps who think Joker is better than Taxi Driver. :gokulaugh:

Even overall, when you analyze the volume-length of each saga, Oda keeps on dragging it pointlessly.

The King Piccolo arc, in early DB, is two-and-a-half volumes, which is incredibly tight when you consider what happens within it.
In fact, most of DB's early sagas don't go over 2 volumes each, while during the Z sections, sagas average around 10 volumes per.

DB
  1. Emperor Pilaf Saga
    Volumes 1–2 (Ch. 1–23)
    Length: 2 volumes
  2. Tournament Saga (21st Tenkaichi Budokai)
    Volumes 3–4 (Ch. 24–54)
    Length: 2 volumes
  3. Red Ribbon Army Saga
    Volumes 5–10 (Ch. 55–121)
    Length: 6 volumes
  4. Fortuneteller Baba Saga
    Volume 11 (Ch. 122–134)
    Length: 1 volume
  5. 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai
    Volumes 12–14 (Ch. 135–161)
    Length: 2.5 volumes
  6. King Piccolo Saga
    Volumes 14–16.5 (Ch. 162–194)
    Length: 2.5 volumes
  7. 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai
    Volumes 16.5–18 (Ch. 195–194)
    Length: 2 volumes

DB Z
  1. Saiyan Saga
    Volumes 17–21 (Ch. 195–241)
    Length: 5 volumes
  2. Namek Saga
    Volumes 21–29 (Ch. 242–329)
    Length: 9 volumes
  3. Androids Saga
    Volumes 30–42 (Ch. 330–420)
    Length: 12 volumes
  4. Majin Buu Saga
    Volumes 42–52 (Ch. 421–519)
    Length: 10 volumes

One Piece, on the other hand, averages 10 volumes both pre- and post-ts, with Thriller Bark being the second-shortest after Zou at 5 and Wano reaching a whopping 16 volumes!!!, the equivalent all of DB from the start and until teenage Goku meets Piccolo at the tournament!

Hows Elbaf so far?

#92
We're 29 chapters in (1126-1154), which has yielded so far 2 official volumes (111, 112) and enough chs for a third.
So, we're 3 volumes in.
If it follows Egghead's length (7 vols), then with Harald's flashback we should have in fact gotten to the very middle of the arc, and should get around 3 to 4 more volumes to wrap everything up.

vol 1 - SHs in Elbaf
vol 2 - HKs attack
vol 3 - Giants & SHs vs HKs
vol 4 - IMU + Harald flashbacks (<---- we are here)
vol 5 - fights
vol 6 - climax
vol 7 - epilogues & transition to next arc and/or outside world updates

And Wano's ending still managed to feel rushed.
Incredible
How did Oda fuck up this bad?
He shit the bed when he realized he can’t stay in Wano till the end of the series.

Imagine oda writing namek. We’d have 7 nails. Dende would be shittier version of Tama, and Frieza would have a daughter that would look just like Frieza but with massive tits.
Freezi tits.

This is what happens when you focus on a few important players vs shit nobody cares about like Otama, the Scabbards, etc etc. And then you focus tons of attention on Yamato for absolutely no reason.
I love shitting on Wano. You have no idea how much joy I get from it.

Zarbon would get 10-15 chapters vs Vegeta
