Powers & Abilities Was the Goro Goro no Mi wasted to early?

Enel is amazing and forever my Numero 1 villain... And one reason is the absolutely and godly Goro Goro no mi.



But somehow I feel Oda used it to early in the anime instead for a legit top tier later on... Or someone with a bigger role



Mera Mera at least hab been given to Sabo now to stay in story.



I honestly thing that the Goro Goro should have been used by a Yonkou.



Luffy beating his first Yonkou using the advantage of his rubber fruit would still make him left but let the fights against the other Yonkous more debatable.



But well instead we got some Nika shit and haki... The good old overcoming DFs with some advantages or tricks are gone...

With Luffy (rubber man) as a protagonist, I think that it appeared at the right time. A Goro Goro user wouldn't make a fuss in post-skip, unless he was an ally for the strawhats. I agree that elemental advantages were cool back then, but it would eventually get tiresome (and some logias have really hard-to-find elemental counters).

You could have had anyone, even WB or Imu, with a Power like that, godly, and It would have been ok.

Agree with this.
Natural advantage was replaced by Luffy's greatest power - others helping him.
Enel is way too awesome to remain buried on the Moon, he will be back.

It shows that even if it's a top tier DF, a guy made of rubber with just pre-skip Luffy tier will beat his ass.
So it's a portayal of early introduction of a powerful top tier end game lvl DF that has one major simple weakness that fcks everything up.
It would be top tier power to introduce in later stages but not when Luffy would be it's opponent.

No it fits perfectly thematically for the natural enemy of a god thing that arc was going for. Im even in suspense if oda can even replicate that feeling in the final arc with enel who no one could touch and no one could harm

Introducing it later would meant Hacki meaning it would completly shitted the bed for multiple reason

Skypiea was a great arc and Enel wouldn't be the same without that fruit.
