Speculations Wedding cake plot is not over...

I'm more worried about Kaido going on a drinking rampage drunkenly screaming for more booze, and with the Fire Festival occurring, it doesn't seem so far fetched.

Wedding cake from one side and then booze rampage on the other, my god that doesn't look good.
It would be awesome if Oda could deliver us a Rox pirates chapter tantrum team and poor Shiroguy dealing with it

The whole talk of "Big Mom and Elbaf connection" means she should end in Elbaf is nonsense to me

It's the same as saying that "Arlong connection to Fishman island, Saboady amusement park means she shouldn't end until we reach fishman island"
Lmao

I can also say that "Big Mom is Rocks" so she should end with the plot of Rocks reunion and Luffy ends what Garp and roger started!

Anyway... Wedding cake should not come into play anymore.. we are going to war... Onigashima is not an island that is filled with food ingerdient like WCI where all BM islands areade of food and all kinds of ingredient

So no! Wedding cake plot ENDED

Also, I like the idea of what someone suggested, that Germa boys and Jinbe had escaped easier because the REAL AFFECT of the cake of fainting for hours... took effect LATER when she was on her way to the battle scene

That would Give the wedding cake plot a good pay off.. way better than what we got of just being in joyful mode for like a small amount of time... The amount of screentime given to wedding cake really didn't feel payed off to me... I thought she would faint for the rest of the arc... but what we got was her just staying down on joy mode for a limited time.. was awful pay off

Also, if the effect is delayed... it would stop the rampage of some unsatisfied fans about the return of jinbe and his comrades being safe

Although to me, they can still escape logically even with BM presence

Yeah no that's not happening, Sanji is not going to bake a cake in the middle of the war for Big Mom and he's not going to bake a cake for her after the war either. Some people were saying a similar thing back during the WCI arc, and were even saying that Big Mom would turn good and become an ally after eating the cake and it never happened.

The cake plot is over and I hope it stays that way, if Big Mom ever becomes an ally it would probably be at the end of the series during the final war and that's if she's still alive.

My feelings about WCI as a whole are well-documented and not positive...think that’s in large part due to all the consternation, both in the story and on our forum, about the God damn wedding cake. We all know Sanji learned Attack Cuisine during the time skip, and that the same can have wondrous recuperative effects on a person (Linlin was in ecstasy after eating the thing), but that it can also be used to damage an opponent’s organs.

I always wondered why Sanji, for all his moral grandstanding on feeding hungry people, didn’t take this golden opportunity to seriously hinder a fucking Yonko from the inside. If he did, why has it taken more than two weeks now for the side effects of whatever he did to manifest? Big Mom sure seems fine and dandy in Wano, and even a delayed effect would have reasonably shown after a fortnight.

So, either Sanji DID spike the cake and its deleterious effects either didn’t work or are taking an extraordinarily long time, or he truly DIDN’T do anything to the cake and WCI was an even more aggravating waste of time. I don’t like either option, but I feel like it’s the latter.

No. No more feckin cakes. That plot line was already horribly botched up back in Whole Cake Island.

Using a cake to turn Linlin, the most unreasonable individual in existence as far as the world of OP is concerned (have folks forgotten Jigra’s hospitalised parent that got decapitated by a BMP assassin?), is to be quite frank, one of the dumbest ideas going and it would quite literally destroy what little character Linlin has at this point.

No. More. Worthless. Cakes.

Fun fact. Linlin was actually physically fine when Sanji left to bake a poor plot device. I repeat, Sanji’s personal morals regarding hunger do not apply because Linlin was physically fine when he left.

That means he baked a cake that would boost an already physically fit person. :sanmoji:

What the fuck was he (Sanji or Oda) thinking? :rolaugh:

I think the only reason why people think BM's plot needs to end in Elbaf is the fact that Oda made it clear only Streusen and a random Giant saw her eat the children. If Streusen never tells her about her past (he's kept it secret for 50+ years at this point), then the Giant will surely tell her because they hate her. And this is a plotline that will pay off, otherwise Oda would not have spent two pages describing the witnesses of the event. Hell, Streusen could have been the only witness but Oda clearly made a spiteful Giant witness the event. She still doesn't truly know why the Giants hate her.

ORRR simply she can REGAIN the memories by some important plot twist

Do you actually believe that someone telling her that she was eating Mother Caramel will have the same impact as if she regained that memory instead? It's more dramatic if she is recalling the incident through some plot/ability.... in which case... it will have bigger damage on her brain.. and she might completely snap... so for drama.. I don't care if Struesen knows or the giant knows...

For me.... The giant only knows in order for words to reach Giants... and they start hating her... that was the reason behind one of the giant knowing what happened...so it already payed off with that gaint... Struesen knowing on the other hand is the bigger plot here in my opinion... and her actually regaining her memories... will eventually make her turn on Struesen and destroy him for keeping this secret from her.....

So... I disagree with you... I feel a plot needs to happen where Big Mom recognizes what really happened THROUGH HERSELF not by someone else... it just feels more impactful....

Like... compare it to Sabo remembering Ace for example

Do you honestly think it would be better for Luffy to meet Sabo when Sabo doesn't remember.. and have Luffy tell him that he had a brother.. and he was killed... and little by little he remembers???

or what just happened... where Sabo learned it and remembered BY HIMSELF... through hearing "Sakazuki"'s name... and the meaning of Sake cup of brothers... and suddenly Sabo collapses because he remembered by his own...

I honestly don't care about Sabo by the way, never liked this excuse of losing memory also... however... it's obvious that it's more dramatic if he remembered by himself instead of someone trying to convince him or tell him what happened... do you get me? it's more impactful

I feel the same for Big Mom...

Uh, yes, because then this scene in Chapter 868 does NOT make sense:

Big Mom not having Giants would be a random plot point with zero payoff if she found out she ate the children and Caramel on her own. A giant needs to tell her why they hate her. Its what makes her character come full circle. If Streusen told her or she herself remembered (which she cant judging by the images I just linked), then there would be NO reason for the Elbaf plotline in relation to her character.

You could have left that part out and Elbaf could have hated her for killing one of the Giant leaders, thats it. Oda does NOT leave plot points unanswered.

Edit: Plus, you have to remember that we have a cover story with Lola and Chiffon going on RIGHT NOW. There is a clear payoff happening where LinLin will see her daughters again and either try and blame Lola for not marrying Loki or realizing the whole mess was initially her fault to begin with.

We disagree on that
I think the Giant was there not for her to know by them
Rather for the giant to spread the words to all Elbaf Giant... and for the plot of hatered to come to fruition between Giants and Big Mom.. but it's okay to disagree though..

Yea, lets agree to disagree. We will see how LinLin's story plays out in Wano and where it goes from there. God if only Wano wasn't the biggest arc in this manga's history we'd know soon lol. Looking at like another 50-100 chapters before we do XD
