King is most likely defeated. Yet the mystery built around his race, whose sole survivor he is, holds strong implications for the future.
I can imagine that King becomes ally in some sort, since the flashback hinted he wishes for the world to change and could see Luffy as someone truly capable of doing, as the reincarnation of Joyboy. But in which context? With the Government already present, they could try to capture him as well. Might Zoro even be the one to save King after such a formidable battle and curiosity of his race?
Especially, since King would have nowhere to go after Zoro killed Kaido.

- Said to be a race of gods who lived on the Red Line, a territory now belonging to the World Government and the World Nobles.
- The World Government still holding strong interest in any bit of information regarding members of that race, following Zoro's question, just what his race is and why it would be of such concern to the WG
- Queen too talking about his race and specifically advising Sanji to ask King himself, why his race was exterminated.
