He split up the crew for Sanji's backstory. Sabo, Burgess, Fuji were all side characters. Every strawhat that was in Dressrosa got their time to shine, even Robin. Zoro who was the closest to Sanji in portrayal, got to fight Pica. Fights don't have to be organic, Oda does whatever he wants.
Thats my point tho, and not sanjikuns. He thinks the strawhats will monopolize every major fight. I personally doubt it and it will be mixed with the other supernova present l
Like @Monkey D Theories said, there is always a reason for it. There is no way in hell that the Wano arc could go on without the protagonists being met with some kind of conflict. Oda isn't going to take the conflict out of the story because "If I put it in, then I HAVE to give everyone a 1 v 1 fight."
Yes, because fighting Urashima served as the basis of establishing a relationship with Kiku, which opened up crucial plot points of the story. What does giving Zoro a 1 v 1 fight serve outside of fanservice?

No need to have nine 1 vs 1 of three or more chapters.
What i hope for is that:
- their fights won't be oneshots
- they will struggle and they will come up with something different (at least Franky and Robin should unlock CoA or CoO, if even Chopper does that it's better)
- their enemies will be important character that are actuallystronger than them (Tobi Roppo or veterans for the medium trio, calamities for Smoothie for SZJ,... )
- if Oda splits their fights in a multitude of chapters, everytime we'll see them something actually happens (not like Zoro vs Pica)
Even some 2 vs 1 would be ok, but not any fight should be like that.
They are the main characters next to Luffy, they deserve to achieve something in Wano (or in the post TS for some characters).
Marco might help to defeat BM since Oda foreshadowed his conflict with her when Marco flipped BM ship.
Also if Oda wants to show Marcos fullpower, it should be someone who is way stronger than Marco, BM or Kaido. Not someone who is around his level or below since Oda hasn't shown Marco's full power when he Clashed with Akainu and Kizaru who are vastly superior than calamities.
Jinbei probably would fight BM too since he has history with BM but I don't see that since Minks duo would fight scabbards so Jack would be the one to fight Jinbei.
As for Zoro and Sanji they would Definitely fight calamities since King and Queen interaction mirror Zoro and Sanji.

Even Robin or Chopper.
In the post TS they did almost nothing
That's fine by me too. But it's going to be hard to do when there is so many characters in the arc. I have every expectation that each Straw Hat will get their moment of shine on Wano, as that is always going to be the case in any arc. Like I said, I hope I am wrong, but if this is a full blown war like it's being advertised, then straight 1 v 1's might be off the table.

There’s really not as much characters as you think. The Scabbards and Mink warriors are about to get beaten, so they’re out of the equation.
The only important characters are the SHs, Yamato, Kid, Law, Marco, Big Mom, Kaido, the All Stars, and the Flying 6. Even someone like Killer doesn’t even seem that important. People like Shinobu and the Yakuza bosses are the irrelevant background characters who can spend their time fighting fodders off screen.
And I'd love to see Zoro show progression towards his goal, but there needs to be build up behind it, and Oda has yet to even establish any kind of conflict with Zoro and a prominent member of the Beast Pirates yet.

When did Oda ever establish conflict with guys like Mr. 1 or Ohm? Zoro didn’t even know them before the fight. Oda doesn’t need to turn King into the bane of Zoro’s existence
Oda needs to hand over the keys to One Piece to someone else if this is the case. That soy boy editor who cried over 986 would probably have better writing than this lol.
Where is the tension in Jinbe vs Sasaki, Sanji vs Who’s Who, and Zoro vs Jack? Everyone would already think that the SHs are the stronger ones before those fights start
The last point I think is what's missing. Where's the tension in Sanji vs. Who's Who or Zoro vs. Jack? Most fans already believe both of them stronger or about even with both foes already, so where is the fight to overcome and break barriers that are always present in big, climactic, final arc battles?
Even though I agree that right now King and Queen both seem far to strong for Zoro and Sanji, that's also kind of Oda's MO. He loves David vs. Goliath type battles, both literally and figuratively, where are hero's overcome seemingly insurmountable odds. For Zoro and Sanji it'll beating YC commanders, previously thought out of their league; while for Luffy, Law, and Kid it'll be killing the unkillable titan Kaido that initially they stood no chance against.

Conflict wasn't established between those character but there was buildup through Zoro's goal of becoming stronger, and those guys being a means to an end to reach that goal. On Wano, the Country of Swordsmen, there is so many more ways Oda can go about Zoro becoming stronger to reach his goal, rather than just simply having him fight a strong opponent to do so. Him obtaining and training with Enma is one of those ways. Learning to cut fire is another way. Obtaining the Nidai Kitesu is another way... etc.. etc..
