That's pretty much the point. Characters perform as good as plot allows them. Thinking that Mihawk in the roof top means victory for the "evil duo" is delusional because the evil duo is bound to lose.

Well to answer this question, first of all, is the plot armor for the 5 on roof as strong as vs big mom?
If yes, Mihawk gets clowned by everyone, kid, killer, zoro, whatever, everyone has his turn shitting on Mihawk.
If the plot is balanced for the 2 factions, Kaido and Mihawk low diffs in under 1 minute? Sounds about right.
But this is one piece and the first option is the one that will be painted by oda.
Characters simply can do as much as they are allowed by plot, that's why Zoro, Usopp and Brook can end up imprisoned by fodder fishmen. Kaido and Big Mom are there because this is their moment in the big picture of the story as they are more important than Doflamingo or Katakuri but less than Blackbeard or the Government. If Mihawk was here, then he wouldn't be here to defeat the good guys.

You need to understand if you change the characters you automatically have to change the plot. Unless you think these 5 could beat prime roger and prime wb. No these 5 wouldn't but they'd get more help so they could. To my original post 3 admirals couldn't beat luffy so luffy was moved away from the 3 admirals. Luffy magically didn't get strong enough to beat 3 admirals just cuz they were the villains. If you replaced the 3 admirals with 3 fodder marines boom luffy beats them and the plot is changed. This isn't hard to understand. It's not that villains can't go down it's how. If you force these 5 to fight mihawk and kaido they lose but in story they'd get help so they can. At this point you'd argue luffy in arlong park could beat akainu if he was the villain instead of arlong which obviously wouldn't happen.
Reality is, Mihawk’s weaker than Kaido but tougher than Linlin. The Rooftop Nova would be treating him similar to Kaido. I.E. getting blows off on him, hurting him etc.
