Powers & Abilities What is King of Hell?

I see everyone talking about King of Hell Zoro as if it's a mode. Did I miss something? All I see is Zoro using an ACoC attack and then dubbing himself the king of hell. Where does this come from?

All of his ACoC attacks start with β€œKing of Hell Three Sword Style: <attack name>” so it’s not far fetched to consider it a β€œmode” or a new category of his attacks

King of Hell (KoH) is the name of Zoro's techniques when he's using a lot of blackened haki, so much it creates a green aura around his swords, and ACoC together.

As we can see in the following scene just using ACoC, even with non-aura/normal blackened haki, is not a KoH technique.

Zoro has three sword serpent/dragon style technique which is when he uses even more ACoC.

There's so much ACoC it trails behind Zoro and looks like a serpent or dragon.

Zoro can use KoH and 3 sword Dragon Style together.

For two reasons
1-Because he has a green smoke color in his swords like Brook attacks and is associated with hell/underworld
2- the sword Enma means "King of hell"by kozaburo words and zoro needs to mastered that sword his control over the sword is at 95% but not at 100% and keep in mind that every conqueror has to be a King also oda wanted or want to paralleled him with rayleigh who was the dark king

King of Hell attacks uses/imbued with Advanced CoC. You can find the Japanese name for the attacks and it'll show Haoshoku part in it.

If you're talking about why "Hell" is used specifically, first of all it's because he's using Enma. Secondly, Luffy is the Sun / aboveground, so Zoro is Hell / underground.

If you're talking about why "King" is used specifically, first of all it's because he's CoC user. Secondly it's Rayleigh parallel.

Last but not least, King of Hell sounds cool as fuck. Zoro's target audience fans will like it.

The use of Hell is also a Ray parallel.

His Dark King epithet- ε†₯ηŽ‹- is what the Japanese use to call Hades/Pluto.

Hades/Pluto being, much like Enma, the rulers of hell/underworld.

For some people King of Hell would be when he was using COC, I personally think from now on he will always use it and that distinction is silly.

having piss poor control of Enma and so blasting all your haki out for 2-3 mins.
Even Luffy's "sloppy" adv CoC post 1010 lasted for 30 minutes, so not a good look for Zoro.

When you are so strong that you can one-shot anyone, not a bad look at all, Wesy-chan.
It is only a bad look for people like Luffy who try to bore people to death with healing punches.
