Character Discussion What is opinion on the Seraphim ?

What are your thoughts and opinions on the Seraphim, on their powers and how they have been portrayed and used in the story ?

Were you excited over them or not ? Did they live up to your expectations or were they a letdown ?

I wasn't excited for them, I wasn't ever super into the sci fi aspect of it, because ehhh One Piece has never really felt like that type of story. Now in Oda's defense, Vegapunk being ahead of his time and the ancient kingdom having super good technology are fairly old plotpoints. That doesn't really change my opinion that it's a bad fit. Also, the lunarian Dna thing is kind of cringe and could end up being like Hashirama cells in Naruto, which is uhhh not the best story idea. My Big worry is that all dead characters will be cloned like Roger, Ace, WB..... If this happens I will be pretty annoyed and like time travel cloning isn't good for stories. Now, I am a bit more indifferent

They feel unnecessary tbh, they really added nothing to the story just more powerful enemies that the strawhats may not really even fight, I dont see them having a major role going forward, and I'd rather them be original characters with their own thoughts and personality, rather than carbon copies of the og warlords just with a few upgrades, it would of made for a more compelling and interesting story if they where say

Volunteer vice admirals who got experimented on

Or Prisoners who got experimented on

Or even kidnapped people that got experimented on

That would of made the impact of the seraphim stronger imo

I like the concept of Shishibukai Pacfista

and the fact that they have their skill counterparts + pacifista enhancement + cool DF

for exemple S Shark is quite cool with Senor pink DF + fishman karate + lasers etc

But yeah I agree the lunarian thing doesn’t add much

Just them being pacifista with wasp metal of shit like that would have been enough

But the overall concept is cool enough

Can’t wait for them to grow older and be a ficking menace

But I don’t really like the door it opened : same for Stussy btw. I don’t want AT ALL other clone guys popping everywhere, I don’t like at all that door to be opened, can be a real mess real quick

Yeah basically, I don't mind what we have that much, but if Oda doubles down on clone stuff it will be bad

Honestly I didn't like Hancock's clone being able of turning others into stone despite still being a child physically, though Oda gave the excuse that it was due to her cuteness, it gives some uncomfortable implications.

Overall I can't say that I am a fan of the Seraphim and the whole Lunarian thing.

Alongside Elders, they are the perfect stalling devices for the huge army that will rise against the World Government.
Elders have regeneration, Seraphim have damage immunity due to King's DNA and that is how they will keep invaders in check.

They will be not used for stalling, the adults one have the potential to be replace Imus guard imu if oda does that route that they will actually have skills the orginals dont have with their dfs
also they are not damage immune we littearrly got the opposte nik dementia is kicking in:josad:

I love the concept, I think the execution so far is passable to good. Nothing bad but nothing outstanding from them, either.

If they display some personality by the next time we see them, I'll be much happier with the Seraphim. I personally think/hope they develop to be independent people by the end of the series, rather than being left as near emotionless robots.
