This is like saying Whitebeard wasn't actually dead because he was still standing when he passed away
Also given the little wiggly lines drawn all around him (those are usually drawn to show when someone's faltering), it's implied he was very close to falling down and passing out for good.

Well the difference is Whitebeard is HIM. Him never falling was a big thing, oda never gave Lucci that respect.

That’s just odas style. Shanks has the same eyes right before he attacks kid or Luffy in Marineford when he cancels his attack against Mihawk. Neither just took an attack and neither were on the verge of passing out.

Lucci probably also has a stamina limit. Even he was exhausted after his fight with Zoro. The difference is Luffy just uses vastly more stamina than anyone else with how he moves and uses his powers.

Hell Gaban after blitzing Sommers had those same lines over his eyes. He was neither using FS or about to pass out.

That's because Lucci is a prodigy. Luffy just got lucky he awakened without even knowing.

Law and Kidd are heavily taxed by awakening too, so this isn't exclusive to Luffy. Newb tax. Takes time to master apparently.
