Luffy was 100% right not to go chasing after Ace at the time Zoro was talking about.
At that point the crew had no idea that Ace had fought Blackbeard, that he’d been handed to the Marines or that he’d been sentenced to death. All they knew was that Ace’s Vivre Card was fucked up, which meant that somewhere in the world something had happened to Ace that put his life in danger.
It was after, in Amazon Lily when Luffy had actual information, that he decided to go after Ace.
So yeah, I do see the similarities in the two situations.

If you say Ace died because of Luffy that's fucking dumb because Luffy literally saved him. If Ace didn't let himself get trolled by Akainu then he wouldn't have even been in the position to get it because of the paper, nor would Luffy. In fact, you could say that Ace trying to fight Akainu almost got LUFFY killed, not the other way around.
