Zoro was right and Ace's example is pretty spot on if you think beyond the obvious, which seems like some have a hard time. You can't keep someone in a birdcage to keep them from being in danger or you can't fight all of their battles. Everyone has their own life, you have to help when you really need it.

In the current situation, it's ridiculous to go to Alabasta, it would just be a waste of time and maybe when Vivi needs their help, they won't have time to come back. And it's ridiculous to go to Mary Geoise and risk losing some nakama or losing your life and even if you win you don't get any information from Vivi. The prize is not worth the risk.

When they have information about Vivi, even if she is going to be executed like Ace, then they will go save her no matter what and risking their lives, like Luffy did with Ace.

It doesn't matter if they manage to save Vivi or in the end she dies like Ace, the important thing is that they move heaven and earth and do everything in their power. Nothing more can be asked of him.

As concerned as they may be, One Piece is a pretty rudimentary world with little technological quirks. You can't find a person without a Vivre Card. It only remains to wait for her to get in touch or for the newspapers to publish more information.

For this Zoro is right and the comparison with Ace makes sense.

Did you expect them to randomly find Bonney inside a water vortex in the middle of the ocean with no context at all?
No.
Difference is that they weren't looking for her.
And it's very possible that Kuma sent her there.

Ofc they will eventually find out where she is and save her.
But that's nit what the user was talking about. He was shitting on Zoro for his statement.
The SHs don't know what we know. They don't know that they're the protagonists

No, Zoro is right and it's a common theme for Zoro to jump in with reason when Luffy and #4 are being emotional and irrational. Vivi is the princess of a Kingdom and her fathers heir, becoming the Queen of a Kingdom after her father's passing. The strawhats cannot interrupt their journey to babysit Vivi whenever there is some ambiguity regarding her well being. The emphasis lies in the word ambiguity: They don't know Vivi's status, how and where she is, the info only talked about the assassination of Cobra, supposedly by Sabo. It would be an entirely different thing if they know exactly how and where she is, with a clear existence of danger and her needing help.

So what were the straw hats supposed to do? Blindly sailing to Alabasta or Marijoa to try and find her to be sure she is fine, maybe at the cost of even battling the forces of the Marines and WG including the admirals, only to find out she's not there?

It's a general principle that you have to leave people to their own affairs and of course help when it's possible. Again there's no information on where Vivi is or what her state is, so they can't do anything right now.
They should be able to look into it at the very least. Dropping the issue entirely is weird.

Though I guess there's still hope for it in the next chapters :few:

The problem is that to start investigating they would have to go to Mary Geosie, which does not guarantee getting any clues and the risk is very high.

Another option would be to look for Sabo, but they also have no way of finding him since he did not leave his Vivre Card.

One Piece is a pretty rudimentary world with little technological quirks. You can't find a person without a Vivre Card. It only remains to wait for her to get in touch or for the newspapers to publish more information.

As much as it annoys her, the best they can do is hope that she gets in touch or that more news appears in the papers.

And although the Muguis can't know it, because they don't have the same information that we do, maybe Bonney can give them information.

You just forget that Ace lived his life without regret. That's the reason Luffy saying he has his own adventure. And the same applies to Vivi and Sabo.

So far they don't know nothing of what happened. And little does us. It is pointless to do any shit now.

About Ace. Nothing would change if Luffy helped him early on. He was too weak.

Ace died to save Luffy. So, in a way it's Luffy's fault.
Well,if Luffy didn't show up,Ace would ahve been beheaded by those guards,so Luffy kinda saved him for a while.Ace was just too pridefull,if he just let Akainu trash talk and kept running none of that would have happened.Luffy stop running and bent over to get that vivre card because of Ace.
