Guts is on his own level lmao.
I have only seen Berserk movies but his character archetype is much more complex then Zoro's. He lost something, and his failure follows him everywhere in the form of that scar on his neck and his goal is life is to get over that. While Zoro is a great written character, his archetype is very simple, he is simply the guy with ambition to get stronger strengthened by his child hood and great moral compass,

Oda simply isn't capable of writing a character as complex as guts but Pre TS Zoro is the best work Oda has done. Zoro is on the very top by One Piece standards but Guts' standard is much higher than what One Piece can offer.

@Admiral Lee Hung those movies are really making me wanna start reading Berserk.
I will just say Guts is more badass than Zoro.

Berserk as a manga is not comparable to One Piece, its dark and kind of complex while One Piece is a manga written for 15-year olds.

Nevertheless, Griffith can be called a complex character, not Guts, in my humble opinion.

On topic, none from One Piece really comes close to Zoro.

Berserk as a manga is not comparable at all to One Piece in terms of complex plotline, its dark and kind of complex with lot of mysteries still to be unfold.

Griffith kinda resembles Abraham from Biblical archetypes as he represents sacrifice. Someone who sacrifices someone most dear to him (Guts) for something he values even more (desire to reach the castle) like Abraham sacrificed Isiah for God's will.

Though the difference is Griffith was showing some reluctance, asking Guts to not touch him while Abraham didn't show reluctance.

Guts is complex simply because of his character arc. Someone's failure following them everywhere in form of a mark isn't a very common anime troupe. Naruto loosing Sasuke is kinda similar to Guts loosing Griffith, but Naruto doesn't get constantly reminded of his failure like Guts is. Guts is a simple man but his character arc is complex.

Btw I am not a christian.

You must bro. It’s a manga in a tier of its own (though imo, Kingdom is up there with it)

Ion know with that face scarf, dressing like a cross between a male stripper and a someone who is bout to go to fag pride parade, being all silent and shit, seems like he's got a few edges.

Doesn't help that he is a literally a kissless 40+ yo virgin who dwells in his mama's basement.
Well, at least this is an interesting way to describe his look, lol. But I clearly disagree, his look makes him badass as well, looking like a biker for me. Besides, there are characters looking far worse than him...
But Katakuri's character mainly makes him badass; he's so silent and acts so "perfect" since he wants to protect his family, being a huge role model for all of them, threatening enemies not to harm his siblings; he even went that far killing the chefs to protect his secret. Hence it is nothing more than a charade but his backstory makes it more reasonable imo.

Furthermore, his character development also makes him an interesting character; because of Luffy, he no longer denied his own personality, he didn't even care anymore what his fanclub thinks of him - he just wanted to have a manly fight against the MC.

Apart from that, IIRC Katakuri has his own island in Tottoland, he's part of the monarch which his mother rules and plus, Kata is extremely popular among the people - I doubt he is still a virgin lmao.
