Future Events Who will Luffy's "Warm up" fight be against?

#1
If there is one thing for certain that we know happens almost every Arc is that Luffy typically gets a warm-up fight prior to him going on the fight the Big Bad of the arc. In most cases this is to show how much he has progressed from one arc to the next. In WCI, Luffy was shown to have difficulty against not one, but two Yonko Commanders. In my opinion, this was meant to serve two purposes. First was to showcase the strength of the Yonko Commanders, and second was to serve as a means for Luffy to get stronger in order to finally break into the Top Tier threshold and prepare him for his inevitable fight against Kaido.

Now that Luffy finally has a firm grasp on Future Sight, and is starting to get the hang of Advanced Armament Haki, the only thing left for Oda to do is to showcase how much these two advanced forms of Haki has elevated Luffy as a fighter. Now a lot of people seem to think that Jack is going to be the recipient of Luffy's new found power boost, but I am really starting to doubt that. Don't get me wrong, as I think Jack is a strong and capable fighter, but when it comes to Yonko Commanders, he stands at the bottom. In my opinion, Oda really needs to go big with this one in order to establish a clear difference in Luffy from WCI to Wano. These weren't minor powerups that he received, but rather two forms of Haki that not many people are capable of achieving.

Initially I thought Oda would probably give Luffy, Queen, but now that I think about it more, I think it might be possible that he gives him King. This is the perfect opponent for Oda to showcase just how much stronger Luffy has become. The gap is just too big between a Yonko and the Yonko Commanders for Oda to serve Luffy up the weakest or even second strongest Yonko Commander. Luffy needs to be shown to be definitively above the Yonko Commanders, and the only way for that to happen is if he defeats one who is around the same level as the one who gave him such a hard time just one arc prior. Now of course I am probably way off base here in this assumption, but I am interested in seeing who other people think will be Luffy's warm up match, and why.

And as a side note, Oda does typically like to have either Zoro or Sanji clash with Luffy's future opponents, whether they be his warm-up, or main opponent, and in a lot of cases, both. And now we just got a Sanji/King clash, which will probably turn into a small skirmish. And I am not fully subscribed to Sanji vs King just yet, because I still have an inclination that this raid is going to end in failure.

Oda refused to allow Luffy to defeat Apoo
Oda refused to allow Luffy to defeat Ulti and Page One...
Oda refused to allow Luffy to face Big Mom...
Oda refused to allow Luffy to face King...

At this point I doub't that he's going to defeat anyone before taking on Kaido.
I know that Luffy said he will whoop Jack's ass, but the Minks are already fighting Jack to to avenge what he did to them on Zou. They could still lose and someone would have to take over, so If that alone is not convincing, Oda emphasized that Luffy has to avoid getting injured as much as possible before he's going to fight Kaido.

Also Luffy already demonstrated his new power up, of course not in combat, but we do know by know that Luffy is capable of using future sight and advanced CoA and he learned the latter technique to be able to injure Kaido after he has been one shot by him, while Luffy was at his strongest.
Wouldn't it be more impressive and indicative for how much Luffy has gotten stronger since he has been fodderized by Kaido, by demonstrating that he's now capable of holding his own against the exact same opponent?

I don't think the minks are strong enough to put jack down for good. In Zou they didn't even push him to use hybrid form. Also, inuarashi and nekomamushi aren't fighting with them, the dukes are fighting kaido instead. They have to take out an army of gifters, one of the numbers, and jack all at the same time.

The minks will do some damage, and then luffy will come and showcase advanced CoA by using to take out jack.

They fought 5 days and 99% of it was off paneled and Jack had no reason to hold back.
I forgot about Neko and Inu taking on Kaido, so yeah in this case I don't see Jack getting defeated as well, but that doesn't mean Luffy is going to defeat Jack either.... A lot can happen until Luffy even arrives at the roof. Just like in Marineford when the fights constantly changed.

I don't believe Luffy's going to get a warm-up fight.

He already had a clash with P1 where we saw how his G3 has grown stronger. He had a clash with Yamato where he showed off better mastery of barrier haki and penetration haki by easily removing the cuffs.

If he does anything he's going to have a clash what Big Mom until he moves on to Kaido. Right now, he's the only one in the area that stands chance against Big Mom..

Would be cool if he one shots a slightly injured Jack after Jack outlasts the Sulong minks with his first use of Ryou vs. an enemy, would clear the battlefield, make a dramatic introduction and be hype.
Just a shame it involves the PIS of Luffy not arriving in their fight right now... which he should have already done with his superior speed and mobility to anyone on the plaza...:lusalty: Dressrosa stall tactics to stop Luffy confronting the big bad again...:whitepress:

I don't think Luffy will have warm up fight at this point.... I think Oda will just stall him through Big Mom or other clashes with Tobbi Roppo or even calamities like Queen for example who had an interaction with Luffy before... and it will be some skermishes NO warm up match, until Oda clears the path for both of Luffy and Kaido to confront each other.... I expect an admiral to show up to hold Big Mom off honestly.... and when that happens... that's the sign that means luffy will head to Kaido....

Have him beat a topi roppo without having to resort to G4 and not get knocked out by a headliner before talking about warm-up lol
He beat tobi roppo Page One in a blitz without using Ryou or g4 (Page One doesn't have unconscious CoC defence like Luffy so if he gets knocked out he is helpless and could have been killed in a morals off one vs. one).
He wanted to use g4 to save time/stamina, not to win, g4 has become a lot more casual for him anyway.

Apoo pre-skip cut off Kizaru's arm, if you don't know what his power is it is hard to deal with, like Sugar, doesn't mean anything.
