Well Lanji the original point in the discussion was me pointing out to Monkey, who claimed "conservatives" were nuts thinking public schools are trying to groom their kids or w/e, is that school is a big social influence and obviously if they're going to be educated in this direction there's going to be some wider scale changes, and it's not irrational for a parent who disagrees with such an agenda to show concern. School isn't the only influence in a child's life but a pretty big vector.

Children coming out as trans 10x higher over a decade absolutely has to do with what they're being taught and told - by school, by society, etc. If you can agree with that, I made my point. But I also went a bit further to try and show how these concerns would make sense to someone over the isle. I feel like you're perhaps talking around what I've put forth by just framing the issue in terms like this:

Except you don't see a similar trend with rates of people coming out as LGB - it increased but not by a factor of 100 over 20 years. It's a matter of scale.

Even if the scale was the same, hormone therapy and transitioning interventions are terrible for a child's health and raise serious questions about consent.

The fact that educators would be inclined to roll their eyes or dismiss such concern, as you are, is sufficient reason to suspect that being in the public school system is in fact more likely to turn them into alphabet soup.

This isn't how gender dysphoria works. I really hope you realize that there's been professional medical research into this stuff. If it was possible to influence people into and out of gender dysphoria then medical transition wouldn't exist.

If what you were saying was true, then conversion therapy would work, but its been proven extensively that it doesn't.

parents raised me orthodox christian (good majority of conservatives in the country I bet )
and when I stopped going and completely rejected it
am sure they blamed my innocent public school teachers lol
but really I began to reject it when I saw the way they treated one of the teenagers who "dared" to be attracted to member of the same sex and turn around to tell me "love my neighbor".


certain things you can influence in your kids life and certain things that will be unstoppable
and sometimes in trying hard to control it , you will push them in the opposite direction.

First you have to go to a sexologist who will be the host doctor who will send you for many tests, many very pricey, to even start talking about any testosterone or operation. For that you will need psychological and psychiatrist opinion. Many of those tests are very uncomfortable, changes in your body will hurt or not, depending on your own biology. The paper work is basically first going to the court and protect to change your name and state of your gender. After that you have to do the paper work to change your ALL documents with your name.

And sir, I am from Poland, which is the least LGBT friendly European country in the rankings and doing it here is an even bigger pain in the ass because you have to be so careful in to whom you are going because some of doctors are only doctors from the name and not work. Not even talking about defending yourself from people around, from the streets to the closest circles. Not once I was almost kicked out or really kicked out for who I am or how I look like from just a regular store where I am a really polite and soft spoken person so if I was looking different I wouldn't be even judged for anything. Such environment DOES NOT HELP fact that whenever I wake up I have to hear my voice what is like razor blades in my throat and look at my self and hold myself from ripping off my chest. Body dysphoria is a shitty thing to have. And you have to act strong all the time before people because otherwise they will eat you like hungry lions.

Plus whole therapy is very stressing and it is not from a day to day change, voice only can take from a year to two to change.

I don't necessarily agree with you here, but regardless of whether children are being "converted" or whether 10 percent of our population has actually had gender dysphoria all along and the incidence rate we're seeing among kids today is totally not a trend but a reflection of our true nature (your position)...

The actual, real consequence of this is that many many more children will be exposed to transition therapy. I don't expect you to care given what you've previously said, but my point to you in the first place its wrong to push this agenda and then try to gaslight people by telling them it ain't happening. This is my point exactly. Gender dysphoria is a medical issue that requires medical treatment. Should Kids be put on puberty blockers or be able to take HRT?

I think that if doctors give a person the diagnosis and prescribe such a treatment as the scientifically tested best treatment to treat the disorder, then it shouldn't be up to politicians whether or not kids can get such treatment.

I made the earlier point that the numbers suggest a high mutability to gender identity but not so much to sexual preference. Which is why you see like 50% of mtf trans people say they're exclusively attracted to women still.

I take issue with the idea that it's ok to sterilize a child and impact their mental development if a committee of doctors agree it's in everyone's best interest. I dunno, maybe thats just me ☠️
