Speculations Why did neither Xebec nor Roger not have World’s Greatest Swordsman title?

Why don’t they have the title?

None of them gained notoriety with the blade to the extent Mihawk did, it's that simple.

World renowned before the great era of piracy, Xebec and Roger were assuredly this.

But being known as the WSS in the greatest era of piracy is something else entirely.

Simply being the strongest swordsman out of technicality isn't that important, if you aren't recognised for your overwhelming ability. If the statements about Mihawk relentlessly battling are true, then this is also part of that.

It would mean Mihawk relentlessly fought to an extent that surpassed even xebec. It sounds a lot like ryuumas countless battles. I'd say Mihawk just has more volume and experience, whereas for example events involving roger and xebec involved fate and happening to run into confrontations, instead of actively seeking them in the duelling sense Mihawk did.

We know for example roger went out of his way to destroy militaries and whatnot, but I think this just aided to his portrayal of piracy more than his swordsmanship. But Xebec's swordsmanship is renowned nonetheless. But at this time you still had people like roger roaming the seas, so there was no clear number 1 in the world, and xebec ended up losing anyway.

Also oda just may think it's not important to display this kind of portrayal for this era, which zoro is not even in for example. It's not the greatest era.

most folks in here are too retarded

did WSM title existed before WB ? No
Did WSC title existed before Kaido ? No
did WSS title existed before mihawk ? No

did harald had the WSC title (since he was strongest gaint ) ? No
did rocks had the WSS or WSM (he was strongest men and swordsman ) ? No

these title never existed before Kaido wb mihawk and oda used it to hype Kaido Wb and mihawk

Also ryuma wasn't the WSS or had the title
he was know as sword god and the original manga "the king". These two title aint the WSS title

No one had WSM or WSC title either. WB was not WSM during roger's era.

These titles exist to hype individual characters is all. So there was no WSS technically speaking. In actuality it was either rocks or roger.

WB wasn’t WSM because Roger contested the title.

There was no swordsman alive after Xebec’s “death” who could seriously contest the WSS title with Roger

Mr.1 Said he isn't a swordsman. King said he isn't a swordsman. Oda is hinting that Shanks doesn't qualify for the title either:

Literally not a single soul cares about Loro's dream, and that includes these 2 as well.

I could buy this if Shanks had a Df, but as far as we know, he clearly doesn´t. What else could he have at this point?

King has his lunarian shit, a zoan, and is generally a ¨brute¨

Daz bones has his fruit.

Shanks seems to just have his sword

No clue, but if what you're saying is the case, then why would Oda even feel the need to give this type of answer in the SBS? Doesn't make sense.
