Chapter Discussion Why do Admirals still have fans after this chapter

#21
Whether a character is antagonistic or even straight up Evil doesn't say anything about them being good or badly written. There is a reason why the villains in most animes are among the most favourite characters.

Anyways GB only had a couple panels so far but you obviously know that as well.
Absolutely agree and choosing him was rather for teasing purposes obviously.
Though, even in so small numbers, those panels have been quite crucial and distinctive about Aramaki.
Even the hardliner Akainu has some sense of humanity as well as the potential psychopath Kizaru.
Aramaki's display so far showed a straight up one-dimensional fascist with zero depth and presumably a short shelf-life in the story.

I don't disagree. That was the wrong place to introduce Aramaki as a character and power wise. It was a train wreck.

I believe there will be more to him. As the story is going recently I think Oda is purposely trying to make all Admirals more likeable and the Gorosei all the more despicable

Fuji is free from that claim i think, and he's my fav Admiral both for his nature based power + personality/character.
Tied with him is Kuzan who doesn't seem that bad as a person --- his known good actions aren't as good as Fuji's but :
--- he helped Tonjit cross the sea in Long Ring Long Land
--- let Robin live
--- Jinbe said he enjoyed great support from his subordinates --- and most Marines are good people who wanted to protect world's civilians --- they also don't know the bad deeds of WG.

Anyway i think that implies he treated his subordinates well.
Other than that again i like the nature based power.

Ryokugyu in the middle, other than his power --- his words are harsh, but he didn't seem to have hurt the villagers in WB's village.

My main reason i like Akainu & Kizaru is because of their nature powers, but i don't like their personalities much - they're my least fav

Anyway i don't like the CDs --- i agree with Garp that they're scums.
So if Kuzan did protect them i'm just gonna disagree with that, i dislike that.
Same with Ryo/Kiz/Akainu.

This can also be asked for some Yonko --- Kaido destroyed Wano and was a brutal warmonger who wanted a world of violence

Entire straw hat crew consists of good people despite them being pirates, they are not evil unlike other pirates . In same way there are good and evil admirals .

Just because bosses of world government are evil does not mean people working for them are same.

Best examples are Garp and Fujitora.

After seeing what Celestial Dragons did to Kuma & his family how can you still be a fan of AdmlraLs who’s job is to protect slave owners?

Shameful

@Extravlad @kurwa @MarineHQ @Elder Lee Hung @The White Crane @Tejas @MonsterKaido
It's completely fitting and suits the admiral personality. Maybe fans and characters have something in common to associate with? There must be some level of admiration and similarity between the two.

You can like a fictional character even if he's morally repugnant, but still disagree with his ethics or morals.
I actually like Hisoka as a character. I disagree with a lot of his actions though.

Yes you can like a character for different reasons, but there will always be one element or another that you admire them for. Such as the way they solve a problem or overcome a hard situation, or the way they fight that might resonate with you and therefore appreciate that particular attribute.

Lol

That’s a great logic to use

As admiral fans we’re this way because we fight for justice and for what’s right

Pirate fans only exists because they support blood thirsty genocides, starvation, murder and torture

In fact you pirate fans love the doflamingo menacing awaken arc, while the hype for Kaido willing to commit genocide was immense hype

oh yeah did forget about him scarifying women and kids to worship Kaido and entertain him? And this is what Yonko Fans support because they’d love to do it themselves

You are a pirate fan, not Sabo
There's a huge difference between law and what's right.

Luffy is a different kind of pirate. You make quite exaggerated comments and vile accusations as someone who admires followers of Imu.

What? Who cares about that

You are who your favorite characters are

meanwhile you like pirates who lick blood of their blades , we support admirals who fight for justice against you pirates

And I’m quite the accuser am I? Call me a judge, however you made a bold claim yourself so I’m mocking you.
