Questions & Mysteries Why do you just assume Sanji defeated Page One?

Is the Anime Reliable?

There is 0 reason to doubt Sanji saying he will own Page One. He is a fairly reliable character. There are 5 other "Page 1s", and that's not counting the numbers. Page 1 is irrelevant to the plot.

People are acting like Luffy secretly beat Big Mom or something.

Who the fuck watches the anime and thinks it's canon anyway?
Some people think Oda micro-manages the anime or something. The anime CONTRADICTED the manga. It can't be canon.

The manga events were:

(1) Sanji says he'll ask Usopp/Franky to modify the suit. (2) He dropkicks Page One.

The anime events were:

him saying he will own page one still does not equate to him actually managing to do that, for whatever reason.
But he was owning him on panel and that how Oda concluded the fight, with P1 getting owned. Whether P1 got saved by someone or he somehow managed to escape Sanji doesn’t change the fact that he was destroyed, thus making the point the Sanji is a level above P1 which is the point of all of this.

"owned" in the sense of sanji successfully defeating page one in their clash, which was not conclusively shown on panel.

You're trying to apply real life logic to a manga, which makes no sense. That line was written by the author of the series himself, and there is absolutely 0 reason for us to doubt it. We have countless characters to take care of and Page 1 being eliminated has almost no consequence on the plot.

Keep trying harder though. Page 1 is irrelevant, and there 5 more dudes like him, not to mention the Numbers.

Neither was Akainu vs. Aokiji (or BB vs. Marco). How do we know someone didn't secretly help out Akainu? It was never shown on panel. With your logic, you can't prove anything.

When a reliable character states something, and there is no reason for the readers to be suspicious, that is a fact.

But he was, the point of the RS is to show Sanji a level above P1.

The same goes when Law slashed Hawkins in the prison, Or when Oven slashed Pound.

We do not have a panel of Pound’s dead body, or Hawkins’s. But it is safe to say that they were done and powerless in that situation.

The same goes to Sanji vs P1, with their fight ending with P1 screaming.

as other people have mentioned few times already, this wouldnt be the first the the author makes a character say something before and then not follow through with it later lmfao.

this has nothing to do with real life logic at all, which kinda makes your argumentation look like disingenuous sophistry

ok oda

I consider it a possibility that Akainu and Aokiji settled their fight with an agreement. do not act like its universally accepted that both duked it out to the bitter end. we do not know this for sure.

"reliable". how did you measure this?
Sanji is not above making statements and then not following through. he caved in during WCI and went back on what he said. cause, afaik hes back in the crew again.

I much rather go by things we saw on panel instead. which was Sanji landing kicks that did absolutely NOTHING to Page One. no injury no repercussions. not a thing. and a punch from Page One that completely overpowered Sanjis RS enhanced kick.
man, talk about clear superiority here. Sanji really did a number on the guy :milaugh:

there is absolutely no reason to believe that Sanji won this.
the previous kicks did nothing to Page One yet that last one is supposed to permanently end him? get a load of that.

Um, that's just called a change in continuity. The anime has literally always done this. Like, rewatch the first episode of the series.
