What people are annoyed at isn't the backstory itself. Most Zoro fans wanted him to be a random who clawed his way up through sheer willpower, and what we got was kinda the same or close. What is annoying is that Loda couldn't bother putting this in the manga and instead put it in a SBS. We could've just had a chapter or two by end of Wano tying this up with Zoro visiting Ryuma grave for example, but nah Oda wants to waste time on filler and running lol.

They aren’t. Someone else will open them. Someone who actually wants the pluton (cross guild or BB pirates).

And we know wanos connection to the Void Century, it was all about the Kozuki clan. Ryuma has no connection to it.

I just don’t believe that the Straw Hats are never going back to Wano especially when the last chapter of Wano ends with the narrator saying “Till We Meet Again” and Momo placing a Straw Hat Pirate Flag down

Also how can Cross Guild be the ones to open Wano’s borders when Zunisha is the one which is needed as well

Well there’s no way to steer the Noah as it has no wheel or mast. The only one who can steer it is Shirahoshi since she’s the only one who can command the Sea Kings.

The Anti-Zoro cult has to find something to complain and cope about.

Zoro's parents have never been relevant in the manga. He is not Sanji who is strong because of his father DNA modification. Zoro is not strong because he comes from a special lineage. He's not a D like Luffy. He's a strong character because of his will and determination.

The only we needed to know was about his connection to Ryuma since he looks like and it turned out to be what most of us suspected. He's one of Ryuma's descendants.

PS: it's not Zoro's backstory. It just us learning who Zoro's parents are.

Zoro received some of his backstory pre TS and again during his battle with King where he realized all of his original swords came from a former Wano citizen.

Zoro's connection to Ryuma is not over yet.

Zoros extended family is essentially irrelevant because the most significant part of his backstory is the Will of Ryuma and the significance of the Shimutsuki clan

To me that fits with his character. He’s not the son of anyone important he’s just part of a bloodline and carries and important will.

Basically the opposite of Sanji

Tbh no one is mad because his parents are fodder (as a matter of fact, I'm sure that 99% of us Zoro fans wanted that). The annoying part is how Oda chose to spend so many panels in irrelevant characters like Otama while not bothering to focus at least 1/4 of a chapter in his second most important main character.

- He is the 2nd most popular character in the entire series per the latest and biggest popularity poll ever held.

- He is the 2nd strongest character in the crew.

- Sanji got an entire arc and his dad is not only a genius scientist but also a former member of the legendary scientist group whose experiments changed and are still changing the world to this day.

- He got little to no importance in the land of Samurai/Swordsman which is his main fucking profession.


To put it simply. His background deserved a better send-off than fucking SBS like some fucking fraud irrelevant side character.
