I do see various fandoms get uppity about their series. The difference is that most manga communities that have these kinds of braggards produce folk that claim a series is "peak manga". One Piece is the only one where I see people claim "peak fiction" and compare their favourite series to Lord of the Rings and I kid you not, freaking Shakespeare.

Nothing ever gonna surpass Naruto level of villains in a single show.
And nothing ever going to surpass the craze of DB.

One piece is just a blend of both but definately not better.

Nothing ever gonna surpass Naruto level of villains in a single show.

Naruto villains were the best about the series. But I really hated how Kakuzu was negged by Naruto's Rasenshuriken when everyone and Kakashi struggled extremely hard to fight that guy. But no, Naruto comes and defeats Kakuzu with little struggle. I wanted to see more wind rasengan based techniques but it is what it is.

Tbh I didn't mind it.
Because at that time rasenshuriken had a Limit , it was damaging Naruto and he can barely use it again next according to Tsunade. But fuckin plot armour and now he is spamming it.

Funny thing was, his comparison really didn't make any sense because he was calling Oda the "Tolkien of Japan" based on making his antagonists multilayered individuals rather than "just evil".....

Comparing him to Tolkien is weird in this regard because Tolkien's work was all about Good vs Evil. Sauron was basically the fuckin devil.
