Indeed, Imu is so far nothing but a regen merchant, thriving until a counter is revealed.
Close combat skills are virtually non-existent atm. In the best case Imu might be another Perona, a specific counter is needed but we never considered Perona brokenly powerful just because a specific counter was needed...
Other than that, Domi-ed pawns are also nothing new nor should they be considered powercreep.
We have seen this with hypnotized Buchi, waxed Luffy, Nightmare Luffy and Shadow Asgard and any other time when powers of 2 or more people were combined. Tricky powers always seem broken at start but they never keep the hype once the cracks start showing up.

There is no powercreep shown in God Valley.
Surviving combined attacks from multiple top tiers isn't new thing, Rooftop Zoro already blocked Hakai without regen merchant gimmick.
