Controversial "With Hard Work and Dedication, you can be Rich", is it really?

Take the money you earn and invest it in the stock market".
:kobeha:
It’s obviously BS if you mean getting up there with the 1%, especially quotes like this one right here probably gonna get you broke rather than rich with the volatility of the stock market and with the recession that’s about to come soon.

Honestly I don’t see the need to get rich like 7 figures or beyond if one isn’t materialistic, it’s all in the mind. Obviously you don’t gotta settle for 9-5 there are things you can do beyond that but gotta keep expectations and what not in check and know what you are doing. All that matters honestly is being able to provide for yourself and your family a comfortable living, that also has in play depending on where you live. Some places are too expensive. You get the point.

Depends on what the definition of rich is.
There is no guarantee whatsoever to become a millionaire for example.

In Germany there was a recent study of who and at what point can be considered rich, with the definition of rich being either top 10% in earnings or top 10% in assets (by age brackets btw).
And at least for Germany, it´s somewhat lower than most people think, and it´s something I truly believe anyone who works hard but, and that´s crucial, directs that hard work into something the market desires after, can achieve.

Of course if your definition of rich is fuck you money, yeah that´s very very unlikely.

This is a very popular saying and it is constantly preached by these guys who sell motivational/entrepreneurship/stock market courses. They said things like:

- "10 Steps to Getting Rich."

-"Take the money you earn and invest it in the stock market".

-"The Richest People in the World only got where they are because they worked and put in a lot of effort".

-"With hard work and dedication, you can be rich".

But is it true? Do things really happen like this in real life or is it just bullshit?
The concept of merit is a not real, so no

Can only speak for America.

America is run on Captialism which is rooted in greed and exploitation. Anyone can become rich in capitalist America but it can be extremely difficult to do so. Some get rich quick, some takes 30 years, other never go above minimum wage till they die. Luck is a major factor given the overwhelming amount of competition and rising prices.
You can get rich pretty easily if you have no moral compass

Nope. At 32 I have finally realized in the last years that it does not matter how hard you strive. It will always be chance, who you know, and what connections you have. Only those people make it anywhere.

This is so true. The chances of going broke are high if someone tries to reach that top 1% lol

Do you mean 7 figures yearly salary? Or 7 figures worth of assets accumulated over someone's entire life?
