Actually, yes. I do agree with that statement.
The issue is that ZKK doesnt rely on one Zoro's statement, there is far more to it.
It should be known to everyone by now. If not, there is still that collection thread that listed tens and tens of connections between Zoro and Kaido and why ZKK should have happened.
Zoro's own statement, Zoro inheriting Enma and Oden's will of slaying Kaido as well as Kaido being World's Strongest that nobody else managed to kill were plenty of build-up for ZKK but as I said, there is countless more.

@Fujishiro Do you really believe that Luffy can survive Zoro's attacks when Kaido and even tougher Lunarian cant? 
Because he is a cartoon now whose heartbeats are just way too funny to fight otherwise?

Let's forget what I think of Luffy and focus strictly on facts where Luffy gets tagged countless times in each fight.
How are we gonna protect such a guy from Zoro who can tag him easier than anyone else?

Yes its true that ZKK wasn't a baseless theory. But the chances of it dropping was after Zoro went down to fight King.
Now by just going back to think about it... If Zoro "after King" fought Kaido who Luffy with AdvCoC. Fought on "equal" terms but was still the underdog in that fight. Even if the CP0 didn't interrupt the fight. The Sad truth is Luffy was going to Lose the Fight anyways.
Reasons :- out breath - haki running out of time so can't sustain G4 for higher Power.
Which tells me that overall Zoro "after King" was going to lose too.
No one was going to beat Kaido. Enter Funny Luffy. The PU that Luffy needed to gain power on demand.
Which translate to that no one could have beaten Kaido.

I didn't think of it. It came up and most readers and anime watchers have commented that "wait is Zoro the one to do it?". There is no "you guys" this is something many have picked up. I for one i wasn't not fully behind ZKK because my reason was that "Luffy will always do it".
