He would be an idiot not to. The only ones who can defeat Lucci are him, Luffy and maybe Sanji. Lucci is an assassin who can fly at high speed. Protecting all the weaklings would be impossible in a situation like this. So yes, Zoro is being level-headed and reasonable, as always.
