Character Discussion Zoro is not the fighter of the crew he is the swordsman

#41
The crews swordsman who is also “a fighter” of the SH pirates is different from “the fighter” of the SH pirate
But brook is also a swordsman. So what now? Do the shs have 2 swordsman roles or what?

Why is it hard for you to swallow that zoros role is the fighter of the crew? It doesn‘t matter if he is a swordsman or not. Dude can also fight with his body which he did multiple times. Swordsmanship is just his personal fighting style. Just accept it and live on.

He is a fighter but not the fighter of the crew. All he does his fight is different from Zoro is the fighter of the crew
He does have the most fight, he doesn’t have the most crucial fight, he is not the strongest

Then why did Luffy mention sword when talking to arlong and not fighting

Did I ever say otherwise, I said he is just not the “fighter” of the crew
He's a swordsman so of course Luffy will mention that

What else you want him to say?

Everyone fights but no one specializes in fighting like Zoro does

It's why we get scenes like his fight against the bounty hunters in whiskey peak or him blocking Kaku's slash in egghead, those killer fighter instincts is what seperates him from the others and makes his role as a fighter special

Other than luffy who'd be able to destroy all 100 bounty hunters at whiskey peak at the time?

Nami still had the basic staff so she'd be taken out
Usopp still had his basic slingshot so same deal
Sanji wouldn't be able to take out any of the ladies who were fighting

Honestly even Luffy might've completley fallen for either Vivi's hypnosis or the Nun's trick like we've seen with Miss Goldenweek

This makes Zoro the most optimal fighter of the crew and is why his role is designated as such

I agree that Zolo isn't a fighter, but I disagree that he is a swordsman

He has a good understanding on most bladed weapons & can use them if he has to

He feels more like a Weaponmaster to me

Why did luffy not mention that Zoro is the figher instead he mentioned the thing that Zoro is best at like he did for everyone else

Luffy is not the captain he is the founder.

Sanji is not the cooker he is the food supplier.

Chopper is not the doctor he is the health keeper.

Brook is not the musician he is the sound maker.
Does luffy cook, or make music? No
Does luffy fight?

Exactly and the same logic can be applied to the ''fighter role'' no ? Everyone on the crew can fight but that's not what they're best at, even Luffy, who is best at making followers.
The only one best at fighting is...Zoro.
So you think Zoro is a better fighter compared to luffy

He does. In every arc zoro, just like luffy, doesn't get just one arc villain but claps one or the other foe in between or at least has additional clashes.
Luffy is only ahead bc of captain and mc bonus
Where was th fighter in wci.
Mention an arc that only Zoro and Luffy fought and the rest of the crew did not

I do agree he is the swordsman
There's no such thing as fighter
Fighters or main fighters of the crew are zoro runji and Jinbe
