Speculations Zoro needs to beat Mihawk before Luffy becomes pirate king

  1. Cross guild is going after the one piece (Mihawk is a part of cross guild)
    • Cross guild will need to fight other emperor if they want to stand a chance
      • Zoro just so happens to be part of an emperor crew as well
    • The strawhats will win the race meaning the other emperors and their crews will lose
      • Zoro needs to beat mihawk for luffy to be pirate king. Same way mihawk would need to beat zoro for buggy to be pirate king
  2. The world government is endgame
    • Mihawk leaving cross guild and joins the world government again after already being kicked out is slightly unlikely to say the least
  3. Mihawk already admitted becoming pirate king is a greater and tougher ache than beating him
    • Zoro himself also puts luffy becoming pirate king as something more important than him being wss
      • Was willing to give up his life and dream in thriller bark for luffy
      • Gave up his pride and asked mihawk to train him in order to help luffy because pirates king
      • All of onigashima
  4. Luffy already said the pirate king having anything less than the wss would make him look bad
    • The current wss already is seen as a subordinate to an emperor
    • Pirate king luffy and wss zoro will walk into the final war
  5. Mihawk and zoro are too close. Again zoro lived and trained with him for 2 years. Mihawk isn't really final antagonist material and i doubt he's gonna be revealed to be secretly evil
  6. Zoro and mihawk staight up aren't relevant enough to be the final battle of the series after luffy takes down imu

They can be shown as the PK and WSS at the same time during the epilogue of the story, i.e., we only see them winning their final fights -> a timeskip happens -> we see them as PK and WSS in the epilogue getting chased by admiral Coby

Well wouldn't mind if all notorious pirates like Shanks, BB, Mihawk falls before Luffy becomes the PK.
Still think Mihawk will place a role in the final war
If Zoro is gonna beat him, he aint gonna kill him
What's he going to do with the rest of the story
He's probably gonna be an ally for the SHs in the final war

There can be countless scenarios at this point.

Luffy's new dream out of nowhere is suspicious.
Buggy & Luffy might end up at Raftel/finding the OP and Buggy becomes the PK.
On the same time VC history becomes known to the public or is about to and Imu/WG attacks them and we get the final war CG/SH/WG

Yeah in the past i was also on the "Buggy wont become a Warlord and then Emperor" team too but he did. PK is not a stretch considering Oda's obsession with Buggy.

Luffy could find OP and Buggy could take all the glory as usual. His new dream out of the blue means something beyong the PK title.

Blackbeard did the same and neither has any effect on luffy becoming pirate king

The emperors are going to need to fight eachother in order to get the one piece. Cross guild is going to need to fight the strawhats if they want the one piece aka mihawk is going to need to fight zoro
Either mihawk and cross guild win and they get the one piece and buggy becomes the pirate king or zoro wins for luffy to become the pirate king


Lets say cross guild wins the race to the one piece. Buggy becomes pirate king and they get all the money, fame, power, and knowledge they could ever ask for beating all the other emperors
Then what? Doesn't change that cross country will never be the final obstacle for the strawhats with that still going to be imu and the world government. Cross guild will still go down before them. Zoro will still need to take down mihawk before the final battle

1. Cross guild literally states they’re not fighting the other emperors. Buggy just thinks they can get there first and since he knows the locations of 3 Poneglyphs he can do that.
2. Luffy and the wg are already on a collision course. The wg isn’t going to let luffys subordinates kill a CD and not suffer consequences for 4 arcs. Especially when Luffy is set up to fight a gorosei this arc.
3. Luffy just won’t be pirate king till after the final war then.

5. Zoro trained specifically to surpass mihawk. Why is this a reason mihawk wont be the final fight.
6. They won’t. It’ll be the same arc.

This is just a lot of speculation, you should admit there’s one thing oda won’t do and that’s make a SH dream pointless by having Zoro gain the title WSS but not actually be the WSS cause that’s just horrible story telling

BB could fight with Shanks, and Luffy with BB. This scenario doesnt involve the CG, they could get the RP and move straight to Raftel and meet there with SHs while the WG/Imu tries to stop them.

Either we like it or not Buggy will have a huge part and Oda wont have him going down so soon.
