Anyone who has seen Pom Poko knows that in Japanese folklore both tanuki/raccoon dogs and foxes are shapeshifters.

The name of the chapter title is alluding to both Chopper being misidentified as a tanuki and Onimaru transforming into Oden.

It makes sense that he would come too considering how he assembled all these weapons for the alliance.

Oden being alive would undermine the whole point of Zoro inheriting Enma.

This would mean that they are actually dead in the present but they are present only because they time travelled from past when they were still alive. He knows Enma and Habakiri were given to Zoro/Momo, so painting other swords is what he should do.
In fact, people who aren't aware these swords have been given to new fighters would probably draw Oden with Enma/Habakiri, no?

Before Enma, the entire zoro fanbase paraded Zoro vs King. The majority of it was still fine with ZvK until he got to the roof.

And the answer is because it's thematically relevant. Zoro is there to prove that "samurai like Oden" still exist, contrary to Kaido's belief. So yeah, hes there to literally serve Oden's will that the Scabbards couldn't.

Not sure why you are disagreeing, this is a big part of the Zoro on the roof argument. All of you fully know well that the reason why Zoro is there is to cut Kaido with Enma, its used in virtually every argument.

I'm fine with Oden coming back. Unless Oden decides to confiscate Enma back from Zoro (i'm gonna drop OP if he does this and gladly takes all the Ls) , Oden is gonna realize ZOro is worthy enough to inherit Enma and Oden's will.
Not sure why does everyone think Oden coming back is a L for Zoro tho. Wouldn't that be a L to everyone on the roof if Oden is gonna outshine everyone of them?

Except it literally isn't. Zoro's strength is the reason why Zoro is where he is. I didnt expect you to figure that on your own.
That's why I quoted you in the first place. You are welcome. Strength and aim for the strongest, ego issue, so to say.
Whenever there was an opponent which is unbeatable in 1vs1, Zoro was there to offer his strength.
No, he is there to grant Kaido his dying wish, something that Oden failed to grant him.

Oden's not carrying Enma, he's carrying Shusui.
