There are some things to add at this point. On one hand Kaido get the "strongest pirate" label from Kidd, Zoro and Killer if I am not mistaken, so this adds to the fishy title he get in his introduction, this is already an improvement from the simple "people says" yet on the other hand we had in the very last chapter Zoro tank a combo attack from Kaido and BM.. There are at least another 3 long arcs left, most likely more (or so I hope), eventually, be it the next arc or the arc after that, the SH will have to face stronger enemies since they have become stronger. Be it that in the next arc Luffy takes down an emperor level villain solo but what for the next arc after that?
As I see it now Oda is trolling both Kaido and BM, if we compare what Kaido did to Luffy in their first "fight" and what is happening now there is no logic. Anyway as the result now Kaido and BM are losing hype like crazy while the SN5 and Zoro (and Luffy) in particular are gaining all what the 2 yobkos are losing.. Imo at this point it is pretty much assured BB (obviously) but also Shanks (but most likely even Dragon and other people) will be stronger than BM and Kaido. Hell if this keeps going like this Oda could even "forget" all the hype for the emperors in general he built in the years through the marines (marines trembling when 2 yonkos meet each other, Garp saying there is nothing they can do if the Rocks reform etc.) to make the admirals possible viable villains for an arc after Wano, or simply really build up IM or the Gorosei as powerhouses (while people like Garp, Sengoku and Kong should be out of the equation for the "villain" spot).
Also by this point I think that everybody is expecting Luffy to rise up almost fine in the next chapter, I expect it too by this point, but if somebody was told this at the beginning of Wano I think everybody would have said that if base Luffy took a strong hit from hybrid Kaido he would be at the very least unconscious again like in the first fight (and not worse cause of plot power and because this is a shounen) yet the cards are completely different now.
