Like wtf even is this? Big Mom suddenly goes into mother mode when she’s near children? I don’t get Oda’s decision to include this. He had a whole arc (WCI) to set this up but we never even got a hint to Big Mom having something like this.

It honestly feels like an asspull and extremely lazy writing just to have Big Mom not kill Usopp and Nami.

And people really try to defend this horrible arc and the ton of writing issues it has...

Big Mom does change around little children. Using Momo is a terrible example because Big Mom has no connection to Momo, who the fuck is Momo to her? Of course she will be nice to Tama to helped her when she had amnesia

Oda's writing in Wano is worse than Chinese monhoua; yes, it's that much worse. Just go and read some Chinese monhoua and you'll understand what I'm talking about.

Yes yes, I know that Momo got crucified and Big Mom eats kids and abused her children and stuff but remember, she got abandoned by her own parents and grow up without any proper parenting or education. She still have "moral" towards children just like how Nami was cared about Tama getting hit by Ulti because Nami was raised that way by Bellemere.

Who is Momonosuke to her? Why should she care about someone who holds no relevance to her?

It's called "Mother" mode. Tama helped Big Mom when she had amnesia, and thus she developed a bond with her, so when Big Mom sees Tama, her motherly instincts take over.

Zeus straight up says this is something that sometimes happens.

So obviously when it does emerge it has to make sense. Why would Mother mode come out with someone Big Mom has no connection to? That wouldn't make any sense.

Any hope of good writing being linked to her character shouldve died in WCI. If you see her for the plot device she actually is....then you'll have no problems with this.
