This is true. If there's more to it than cheap humour, then perhaps Oda could have Jack go after her (after he defeats Inuarashi) in order to kill Momonosuke.
I don't think Oda wants to write Yamato as Jack's opponent, so I'm not really sold on this outcome, but I do think it's plausible.

This strikes me as very shortsighted. Oda has kept Carrot a constant presence for 5 years for a reason. He killed Pedro, the first to die since Ace and WB, for a reason. He hasn't brought Carrot to the breaking point, beaten, unable to move onward, time not having come, just to leave her there.
Whether it adds up to becoming a Straw Hat is still in the air. But she has been pushed by Pedro to become more dynamic. She nor Oda have forgotten what he said, it's been repeated twice this battle. Sheβs very much relevant, and to act like Carrot won't mean anything of importance is just begging for egg on the face by the end of all this.

I will say this - for a character that has truly received less development than most secondary and tertiary figures in this series, it IS surprising that sheβs hung on the periphery this long. Yβall know I donβt buy into the shit about Pedroβs will outstripping Rogerβs or Aceβs, but I like what you said here about his sacrifice; Iβm still not sure it meant that much in the grand scheme of Carrotβs arc since Perospero not only survived, but made it to Wano and already quelled the rabbitβs revenge plot once. Time could be running out for her to get the spotlight you want, but even if some of us donβt care for it, she probably wonβt fully recede to the background if she doesnβt become an official Straw Hat.
@Cinera youre forgetting that we saw Yamato BEFORE Kaido spoke to Bao Hang, and she was already on the 3rd floor. We dont know where she was at the moment of the announcement, but she kept heading up. Kaido entered through the hole Linlin made and went straight for Momo, Yamato will take longer to get there (IF she goes) as shes further away, plus the enemies holding her back on the way. Lets see...
