A nice and smooth battle against Straw Hats Pirates + Alliance against Beast Pirates would have been sooooo gooooddd, we would get stretched out 1 v1 fights and each character would get more screen time.
Bringing Big Mom to Wano was biggest mistake, imagine Marines intervention on top of it. It will be a mess, an ugly one.

Like, for fuck’s sake, Oda could have just shown Momo going “Huh??” while he looked up or something, that would have been perfectly sufficient - we already know he can hear the Voice Of All Things, and we’d just seen Luffy flying downward from Onigashima, we’re not all so fucking stupid that we couldn’t put two and two together here. Just bullshit manufactured “tension” for a week before giving us the expected outcome...why the hell do we do it? Why do we still give this story and the guy who writes it so much attention when this is what he gives us in return? 
But you can achieve that by different means...
You could have had Chopper cure the poison
And hand chopper a big fish too like Jack the draught until a scabbard like Inu wakes up.. and maybe they team up instead... like so many better options
you could have chopper have a 1 vs 1 fight with legit veteran like Perospero... because even Chopper stated he didn’t do damage to Queen, so it was pointless too... his good use was the cure for poison.. after that... chopper facing another strong person with chopper ability to win is better imo

The tension in this is the same it always been bar Marineford and Sabaody.
We had a crew of 6 (six) rookie go to war against a Warlord who had a plan years in the making while also having a GIGANTIC and organized crew and won.
You had a crew of 8 (eight) people literally wave war in a WG area known as the Judicial Island defeat everyone there, save his crew mate survive a Buster Call and left without a single death.
That's what One Pieces does. The tension in these Arcs weren't any better than they were here despite some nostalgia merchants saying so.
If you are complaining about this now you should have been complaining about it the whole series bar Marineford and Sabaody**.
