1. That popularity poll page is not made by Oda, it’s put together by a load of Shonen Jump employees using old pictures of the characters. The one they did before that totally missed out Mihawk and called Kid the worst villain in the Worst Gen, like Blackbeard has totally disappeared.

2. Neither Yamato (yet) nor Carrot have any panels where they are considered a Strawhat. Anymore than Momo or Kine’mon or Pedro or Tama or Smoker do, who have all appeared with the Strawhats countless times.

The only two characters who do have that are Vivi, who was invited to join and the Strawhats have said will be their crewmate again in the future, and Law, who Luffy said was part of his crew in Dressrosa

Bullets don't hurt. But Taxes do.
Make no mistake, Carrot and Yamato are both trash characters. Carrot is just female discount Chopper and Yamato is just bland Nami clone.

Thing is that Carrot has no arguments going for her minus the shaky color scheme argument while Yamato has quite a bit in her favor, even down to saying she wants to sail with Luffy.

Did he really say something like that? I am not questioning you, I just can't seem to recall it.
Luffy's idea of an alliance if different than the norm. Sanji even comedically warned Law about that. In some translations, Luffy called Law his subordinate with Law calling bullshit.

If law joins there's no way of Carrot not joining.
Law is a vastly more important character than Carrot with a far stronger connection to Luffy.

I don’t think he’ll join, I think Oda’s happy to have him be someone the Strawhats consider as one of their own without him officially being a Strawhat (kind of like a New World Vivi) but he’s got nothing to do with Carrot or her poor chances of joining.

Yeah it’s translated to friend, but the actual word in Japanese used is nakama
I see, The fan translations back then translated it as a friend which is probably why I recall it as such.

Law has an actual storyline that will need resolving( the truth about the will of d, immortal surgery) I don’t see how that is tied to Carrot
The story of the Minks is 100% related with the century void.
No mink has ever reached laugh tale
Carrot has to keep Pedro's promise...

She's tied to all of that...

Even if he doesn’t join the crew, it is worth noting that Law is the only guy Luffy has called his “nakama” who is not considered a member. As far as I know not even Kinemon got that in chapter 1000

If Pedro wanted to see the Dawn, Carrot will see it with the Straw Hats during the final war when she assist them

Oda changed Jinbe's color because his other colors were taken. You posted the link yourself.
He didn't say that Jinbe's colour was originally blue, I understand the statement to mean that he struggled with associating him with a different colour when the blue skin is so apparent and overpowering. The first thing you'd think when looking at Jinbe is "blue". But that doesn't mean blue was actually his official colour.
You posted a color spread talking about how Carrot fits in. My point was that the color page isn't set in stone and I brought up Yamato and Jinbe. You kept avoiding answering my questions about whether it turns away Yamato or not.
Obviously nothing is set in stone. No one ever said that it was in the first place. Again, you're arguing with ghosts.
Blue was Jinbe's color because his skin but it was problem cause blue was taken. It's not hard to follow.
Blue seemed like Jinbe's colour. But it never actually was. Oda never outright said Jinbe's colour is blue. When I say Carrot is lime, that's just a likely assumption based on the repeated association of her with the colour. It's not confirmed until Oda says so. Jinbe has never once been given a blue outfit AFAIK.
