Another reason why Zoro is bound to fight Kaido is the Sandai Kitetsu.

Zoro has yet to break his Sandai to get the Nidai Kitetsu. Do you think a YC1 can break his Sandai sword when an insane attack like Hakai couldn't break it?????

It makes sense that Kaido will break it after he goes rage mode and is on the verge of getting defeated.

It makes double sense for Zoro to be rewarded the Nidai Kitetsu after he breaks the Sandai against Kaido.

He can't become PK just by winning a 1vs1 fight, he needs hiscrew to fight other crews/armies and to help him with everything outside of fighting. But way back to the Arlong Park arc, Luffy's SINGULAR skill is to beat the fuck out of the strongest guy in the other side, this has been drummed into us throughout the series. You want to cuck out the MAIN CHARACTER and belittle his ONE ROLE in the crew, so his subordinate looks better.

This is a shonen, Sanji is not aiming to be PK, Zoro is not aiming to be PK (and Mihawk not only admitted PK> WSS in Baratie, but reconfirmed there was a distance between him and oldbeard).

Luffy and Kaido are both aiming to be PK. This is personal, Kaido even threatened Luffy to say his dream in front of him. This is fundamental to Luffy's character.

i don't disagree with you, but kaido is different from all of luffy's previous opponents, also the fact that kaido can't be defeated in a 1v1 has been (like you said) drummed into us since dressrosa, even more in wano it's a well known fact in the one piece universe, yamato admitted she can't win against him despite kaido himself praising her strength when he only mocked luffy's power.

there are fights that one can't win on his own, even if he's the king of pirates, roger had to team up with garp to defeat rocks, luffy had to team up with zoro and sanji to fight aokiji, and with the entire crew to defeat oars, and the pacifista.

i don't mind luffy getting the last wining hit, but until then he will not be alone.

Kaido not losing 1v1 is just a huge Chekhov gun waiting to be fired, just like Katakuri legend that he was undefeatable and wouldn't fall on his back.
