For all we know luffy do not care about the d clan and being someome important. In the end of the day yamato just want to go on adventure and sail, she not going to pretend that she Is oden forever. Her reason to be with the strawhat would not be that much important or different than those of carrot.

Yamato could drop the Oden act and still inherit his will. Sanji wants to find the all blue like Zeff, did Luffy think he's an idiot for that?

Again, Yamato has a potential role to play, and important one. Carrot doesn't. Newcomers may not understand this but what makes a strong candidate a Straw Hat is how important their roles in the narrative will be. Doesn't make sense really... That theme doesn't fit this late... Every SHs have done past that... Having someone in the crew with that in mindset would be a great burden and a regression/downgrade...

The mink tribe is an affiliate of the Kozukis, so there you go: the minks' role is for them to help Wano prepare to open the borders and for the return of Joy Boy... Their role is greatly attached to Wano...

This just makes Yamato meeting Luffy all the more intentional, once again disproving the argument that Yamato was introduced into the Wano Arc out of nowhere.

I was talking about when Yamato was watching the straw hats land and disembark on Onigashima in episode 984. In the manga, its only hinted that they were being watched, just one panel of showing Robin and Jinbe waliking away with their backs turned.

I didn't know what that was then, but the episode literally shows that it was Yamato all along.

All the SHs has had said pasts but Carrot was happy so why is Carrot special?

All of the SHs had a special bond moment with Luffy but not Carrot so why is Carrot special?

All of the SHs had one of the biggest roles in their arcs while Carrot has been a side character so why is Carrot special?

All of the SHs has narrative and thematics reasons to travel but Carrot has none so why is Carrot special?

that shadow thing happened one chapter after kaido mentioned his son it doesn't change anything in terms of when yamato was introduced. not to mention yamato was already hidden in oden's flashback many chapters before that shadow.
