Interesting, now i'm seeing that Zeff really wasn't threatened back in Zou, yet many arguments use Zeff as why Sanji had to go with Tamago and Bege, when this isn't true.

Zeff makes sense on why he couldn't give up later, after that shit, but not right away from Zou.

But Sanji was warned about Zeff's safety at Zou, thats the main reason of why decided to go with Bege

I reread the arc recently, thats what happened, Sanji wanting to protect the crew happened chapters after that, when he realized everything he did was in vain (like leaving the crew) and that the Vinsmokes (including Sanji) would die, and the Strawhats aswell, Big Mom promised Sanji she wouldn't harm his crew if he followed the rules, but she lied, although Sanji barely had choices to stick with
