No, Fishmen are their own race Fishman.
So your calling them furry when they're based on of fish, scales? Jfc what mental gymnastics
Cause fishmen are acting like human . It is literally furry thing to do. Fish men do pirates, read books, play football, do soccer riots, destroy the house, etc.

Carrot is from mink race. Are you going to argue mink are not furry ?

Furry does not mean you must have fur to be furry thing. I use google definition before.

Uncle Van

Bullets don't hurt. But Taxes do.
It's why I prefer to use her superior physical abilities and aerial control than simply using eyesight. Other than Sanji, who has that level of control in the air in the Straw Hat crew? She would be able to get to the highest point of the ship (with the option to go even higher) by the time Usopp even attempts to climb up the main crow's nest. Having a designated pair of eyes to keep track of the whole area is insanely useful as that allows other members to focus more on their main duties. Both in casual sailing and in intense, all-hands-on-deck scenarios.

The way I see this scene with Usopp spotting the guards is that it is a showcase for his sniping abilities rather than an opportunity for a lookout moment.

Anyone could've seen these loud drunks in the open as Straw Hats and allies slowly move toward the entrance of Onigashima. On the second page, someone even says that they saw people as well. But the only member that could take out those guards quietly at that distance was Usopp. Other members would either be too slow or too loud. That is what I see as the point of this scene.

:watchout:

I'm not sure about this point either way as we occasionally haven't seen other roles represented on other crews either, especially since The Straw Hat crew is unique as they have such a small crew with individuals with designated roles. I'm actually pretty sure we've only seen Blackbeard's crew introduce members with designated roles, though I could be wrong.

You do bring up a good point but I think I can explain why this happened.

Here is the sequence from 899.

I see it as a perfect execution of strategy from a Yonko fleet.

I think it's worth noting just how quickly the pincer move started. They go from having Germa at their backs with nothing in front of them to being blocked by a fleet with a giant genie right on top of them. The only mistake Carrot made here is that she didn't catch the ships in front a little earlier as she was focused on Luffy and Sanji alongside the other members. But the second those ships made it around the island it was too late anyway.

The BMI pirates whipped around the island where no one could see, and as everyone on the ship was caught by surprise by the sudden fleet in front Daifuku took the initiative and attacked while their backs were turned, all in an instant. Anyone in the crow's nest would've been taken by surprise by this and not exclusively Carrot. It's also worth noting that CoO specialist Sanji noticed neither the fleet nor the genie as well.

There are plenty of good reasons to be confident that Carrot won't end up joining alongside Yamato, but I would say that a lack of role on the Sunny is not one of them.

Carrot wasn't even doing the lookout stuff during that whole sequence lol

Minks are they only sort of furry OP has.
You are acting like a racist here, all races that aren't actually human are just Furries.

Furries according to your Google definition only exist in the real world. In One Piece, fishmen are racialized people perfectly capable of reproducing with humans and they're literally portrayed as allegories of blacks; so, for comparison, seeing them as furry material would equal to seeing blacks as lesser animals for a One Piece citizen.

In One Piece, whoever is seeing a fishman like an anthropomorphized fish isn't a furry but a racist.

As I said they had the impression that the only enemies were behind them, it was while they were celebrating Luffy and Sanji's return that the ships got the jump on them. And even then the one to even notice the fleet in front of them in the first place was Carrot on top of the ship.

It goes from a heartfelt comedy moment to a serious dramatic moment in an instant, with Carrot noticing the fleet being the catalyst of the tone change.

So here I will have to define what I'm calling driving forces. I won't copy past the article, just a brief checkup:

There is two forms of driving forces in each story (you can call them differently if you want):

The purpose (the goal): What the character want.
The need : What the character need to surpass with themself.

In one piece, there is also a third : the need to fight for Luffy.

With Yamato we had 1 driving force: The purpose (she wants to go out to see), sadly, the construction of the need is not there yet. THere is clew tho that there might be one later on (that's why, I gave all the points to Yamato in my blog on this section), but we will need either another flashback or some other content.

So to come back to your post:

He obsession is one of the brick of the "need", but we need more. that just that. Basically it could take the shape of a bad quality that Yamato would need to outerpass.

That's the purpose. The goal.

We don't know that for sure.

I agreed a long time ago that Yamato's moral pillar was indeed Ace and Oden.. but narratively, we would need more. There must be a clear passage of torch between the two protagonist, and right now.. it's kinda effee.. but I count it anyway and gave the same amount of point for Carrot and Yamato (link to my blog) for that subject !

Finally, no, I don't hate Yamato, I love her character!
The purpose/goal of Yamato: to be free like Oden. She already stated it herself. That’s why she keeps Oden’s journal as her personal bible. Another goal is she wants to get stronger

The need: Yamato is the opposite of Jinbe. While Jinbe is a fishman who has been thought as inferior to humans, Yamato has been thought as superior to humans as an oni. That’s why Kaido imprisoned her most of her life, because she idolized a mere human which in Kaido’s perspective she “lowers” her status in which she should be superior, instead of equal. Yamato needs to surpass the idea that onis are superior, that she will prove that she is not as scary, bad, or as strong as her father. Even her “needs” to surpass that comes in form of her devil fruit, which Kaido stated to be Wano’s guardian deity. At this point Yamato has 2 “needs”: (1) she can show the world that she’s not her father although they’re bonded by blood, and (2) she can show that having specific Devil Fruit of specific country doesn’t mean she’s bound at it, that she can be free on her own will. That’s why it goes back to her main purpose: to set sail and get stronger. And how to fulfill that idea? By joining Luffy, as she stated.

The need to fight to for Luffy: it’s also been stated in manga chapter 1016 that Luffy is the one Oden’s been waiting for; which pretty much means that Yamato knows that Luffy is the Joyboy, not Kaido (especially with the recent chapter that Kaido believes himself is the Joyboy); therefore Yamato stalls Kaido until Luffy returns.

well, here you said you “love” Yamato, but in your twitter you tried to make many votes for Carrot so Yamato doesn’t win. You can say the opposite but your actions showed itself.

plot twist : former marine join luffy crewmate as troll move by oda instead of Yamato
I'd like to introduce you to Isuka, the marine who chased Ace around the grandline and had her views on pirates being changed by him knowing he wasnt a bad person, so much so that she convinced the WG invite him to join the Warlords

She also only joined the marine because she was inspired by a Vice Admiral who saved her village, only to find out that said Vice Admiral is the one who caused the problem in her town and ultimately killed her parents, she was so broken that Ace offered her a spot on his crew as an Earner (someone who helped earn money for the crew), in her case as a bounty hunter

When running from Saboady she seemed like she would join until she didnt jump on the ship with Ace and Deuce
Agter that we dont know what became of her

WHAT SHE LEFT THE MARINES AND BECAME A BOUNTY HUNTER!!!!!!!!!
Only down side is she is a fencer similar to Brook, so much so that her epithet is "The Nailer" because of her powerful thrust attack

I like how her name is similar with Robin (birds name) and her design looks like Robin’s unused post-timeskip designs.

The speed of getting at the crow's nest has never been an issue in all of the series. Usopp or whoever are casually up there in the next panel after Nami tells them to go there.

Besides, the main objective of a lookout is to be able to spot danger and alarm the crew. Eyesight is the point of it. If Carrot is outclassed by multiple members, why does that make it her strawhat level specialty? If they're on an island, why would they be relying on Carrot when multiple people can sense the aura of dangerous people and Luffy has the extra layer of seeing the future? How high she can jump doesn't matter when she doesn't have the ability to know who's a threat beyond appearances and has issues when her vision is obstructed.

Nah I'm not a furry, and I don't have anything against them either. :)

If you call meming being "swift diff" you have a low appreciation for reasonning lol Don't forget that I'm almost alone defending Carrot here and you are maybe a little dozen, still you can't make me flinch for one second xD

The rest (middle) of your comment is nothing new and nothing that I have already debunked before. so yeah.

And for the last time:

Yamato was not inprisonned on Wano, but Onigashima. Wano is a whole new world for Yamato.
You got swift diff'd, just because you defended with nonsense points doesn't mean you didn't get beat. Everyone at this point laughs at your reading comprehension and understanding of One Piece.

Wano/Onigashima controlled territory by Kaido. Yamato has an actual reason to leave unlike Larrot who wants to go because duh she's bored.

I mean... The story goes, Yamato each chapter has more and more chances to stay, or to evolve in her dream and ambitions... Yet you can not stop thinking on the character as a Mugi...
Perople adding her as a Mugi, While Toei doesnt...
People talking about her as if he has any kind of Mugi-like anything?

It seems as if you can not enjoy the character without the possibility of being a Mugi, and IMO, that's terrible for the character. Because It's a LAW 2.0 XDXD

If we're talking pure eyesight here then the only one that would beat out Carrot is Usopp, and that's because he's the sniper. It's when you factor in the physical ability to jump multiple times higher than Usopp can even try that she wins out. The height she can reach lets her see farther as she can look over obstacles in a much wider area than one closer to the ground.

This scene is a perfect example, they have two CoO members with Usopp and Zoro but Carrot was the one to point them in the right direction. Not to mention that CoO can only sense the auras of things right? It's good to detect danger that's close but you need that visual information as well. Both with people and the environment around you.

Images came from the One Piece wiki.

Observation Haki/Future SIght is not the perfect replacement for eyesight. It's good for a lot of situations but not when you need a scope of a massive area in all directions.

By the way, Pedro was a confirmed observation haki user and Carrot was the one to take over his post as Lookout while they were on the Sunny.

Zeus can be the lookout since he can float around freely and is tied to Nami anyway.
Zeus is not a smart individual and would probably be more of a hindrance than an asset if he were to try to give important info to the Straw Hats. Not to mention that since he's now connected to the Clima Tact we have no idea how far he can fly, also he's Nami's main source of damage so he would need to stay near her anyway.

Carrot didn't give any important information on the Big Mom fleet beyond that they were in front of them. Zeus can handle that. Nami was the one that figured out the pincer formation. There's also no reason to think that Zeus can't be far from the Clima-Tact since he can take on his cloud form again. On the subject of Carrot's jumping ability, I would like to point out that when they arrived at Wano, Sanji carried her while he jumped rather than she jumped herself. It doesn't bode well that Oda had Sanji carry her rather than let her perform something that would theoretically be an important part of her job, in the same way that Usopp took on a lookout job rather than letting Carrot do it while she's just standing around doing nothing.

Carrot did more than just point out the fleet during WCI. You're reading too much into Nami's explanation of what the Big Mom pirates did.

Beginning of Wano the Sunny was seconds from sinking which meant that they wanted to stay together so they all climbed on Sanji. btw he didn't jump over to the mainland himself, he used Luffy's belly to bounce over there because of the extra weight. It's not a scene to think too hard about anyway.

Chapter 911:

I already talked about the Usopp part before, it was a moment showcasing his sniping by quietly taking out enemies from a distance. Literally everyone noticed those drunks out in the open as they drifted towards the entrance to Onigashima.

And again, Zeus is not a smart individual. He's easily and constantly tricked and has his best uses dealing damage for Nami. Literally, the only thing going for him is that he can maybe fly as high as Carrot can jump in his current state.
