Dont see how. But should that happen, i take my L with all consequences. I can pay an even higher price if my bet wasnt risky enough for you back then.
If its confirmed next chap….that means she was defeated this chap. You dont say Queen was defeated in 1035 or Albert in 1036. The annoucement chaps are just the aftermaths…
Yes, I'm refering to the strawhats having rematches with the awakened Tobi Roppo and Calamities.
It is my belief that these rematches would add a lot to the story actually. After the defeat of the strawhats we could actually get some emotional investment in the story, and I think that longer fights would payoff the long wait we've had of the strawhats not all getting their individual match ups.
We could also get to actually see Nami and Ussop fight if that happens too.
Luffy has fought Kaido in different settings, I don't see why other main characters can't do that too.
It worked with Luffy because he lost the fight with Kaido and as a result grew stronger from the experience. The rematch is the fruits of his labor in Udon + Onigashima. Why it doesn't work with the Tobi Roppo/All Stars is that they already won these fights and already received the fruits of their labor through their fights. The only Straw Hats that didn't grow in any way were Brook and Usopp and that's in the middle of being fixed right now as they're both actively doing things with vulnerable allies.
I'm going to use Sanji vs Queen as an example of what I mean by adding to the story.
If the raid failed at this point and Sanji fought Queen again, how can this rematch improve on the narrative progression that happened in the first fight? Sanji already went through the inner turmoil and recovered from it. How can a rematch add to this without rehashing already resolved plot points or relying on the feelings of the raid failing as a crutch? As if that's the case literally every fight will be like this and be incredibly boring.
And the big thing that I just can't get my head around is how is this raid going to fail in such a way that allows both sides to completely recover without consequences heavy enough to prevent these rematches from happening?
The point is that it is impossible to know if she was defeated just by reading chapter 1039. He needs-at least- chapter 1040 to prove his point. So he already lost.
Not that it is that important. Big Mom is not down and she will defeat them, so who cares

I just hope that the next time we see big mom she ends up falling down to the Big Mama Chanter that was about to climb the waterfall knocking it back down. (Big dream is she and Flampe end up drowning and dying)

The art was great in this chap, Law the MVP & Kidd looked somehow useful.
My problems is that Oda decided to do that at the expense of BM.
I've mixed feelings about this chapter. +I lost a bet, i'm biased!
So Pantheos playing 5D chess and actually spread his bet across multiple chapters?
If we are completely cut off from Big Mom and Kid/Law next chapter and lets say we see if she out or not in 10 chapters he can call himself a winner for at least 10 chapters worth of wait?
