Based on how Luffy vs. Kaido is going, I can't help but still think that toki's prophecy was talking about Zoro...

I mean, the scabbards are done. The time for Oda having the Straw Hats vs. Kaido would've been between Luffy being KO'd and coming back with his awakening. More importantly, their plotlines are all finished or accounted for. Yet the only one who has mysteries revolving around him and unfinished storylines is Zoro.

We have yet to know what the hell the grim reaper was about, and it even got teased in WSJ after 1042. We have yet to learn anything more about black blades, a topic that has been deliberately hidden from us throughout Wano. We have yet to know anything more about Zoro's past/lineage than what was revealed to us in a fucking SBS lol. Not to mention an abundance of other points and evidence that Zoro's not done yet.

So breaking down Toki's prophecy, we have:

"You are the moon, unaware of the dawn."

It's not very hard to see why "the moon" can refer to Zoro. Perhaps Zoro being unaware of the dawn refers to the fact that, because he is entering the afterlife/underworld, he is not aware of Luffy's transformation into the Sun God. As such, he is not aware of his own role in aiding Luffy (the Sun) in bringing the dawn by fulfilling his purpose (as the Moon).

Now this might ring a bell from Zoro's vivre card: "Regardless of whether or not Zoro was aware of this, the 'Pirate Hunter' Zoro has come to Onigashima not to hunt pirates, but to exterminate an oni, having been entrusted with this fate from long ago"

So Zoro is not aware of the fact that he has been entrusted with a fate from the past that determined his role is to exterminate an Oni. Well, does this have a correlation to the "moon, unaware of the dawn?" I think it does, but it also ties into the next line of toki's prophecy:

"May your purpose be fulfilled, and cast 9 shadows on the night woven of 20 years, and you shall know the brilliance of the dawn."

If Zoro really is the "moon" in question, what is his purpose? I think we had that answered in the Vivre Card excerpt...

And I think it is pretty obvious how Zoro will "cast 9 shadows." It's interesting that Zoro's Hiryu Kaen missed on Kaido while everyone else landed their attacks, especially since Zoro's attack was treated significantly more dramatically. It's also interesting that Zoro's scar on Kaido was deliberately showcased as a short-coming in Zoro's mind. Kaido said "it should be enough for you." It should, but it sure as hell isn't. :myman:

And finally, Zoro will "know the brilliance of the dawn" by fulfilling his role/purpose in bringing down Kaido and freeing Wano, instead of allowing his soul to pass on to the afterlife.

I forgot to mention that Wano is sometimes known as "Hell," and Zoro is going to become the "King of ____"

Hmmm

When was stated that Wano is hell?

Wasn't it the country of gold?

Whatever happens we win in the end, I feel sorry for anyone that spends their days whining about anything related to Zoro, it's going to be a massacre. :myman:

I only remember this quote but they don’t say that Wano is "hell"

When was stated that Wano is hell?

You might be right. I thought one of the Scabbards said it but I could be confusing Zoro's conversation with Onimaru and this line
Hiyori was the one to refer to Wano as Hell in front of Zoro in Chapter 943. I think I referenced it in a post a few days back.

There is another interpretation of "You are the moon unaware of the Dawn..."
It can both refer to Zoro. Moon connection is clear while Zoro's name literally means Dawn.
It could refer to Zoro being unaware of his connection to Wano and Shimotsuki lineage.

May his purpose be fulfilled(exterminating the Oni) and he shall know the brilliance of his heritage - Sword God's descendant?
The nine shadows obviously refer to Zoro's form that is literally godly figure Asura with 9 swords.
The only part that I cant connect is 20 years. Kinda unrelated to Zoro himself while everything else might be.

We have also Luffy referring to the current Wano as hell back in Udon
Tbh this is more evidence that Zoro actually will experience REAL hell

"If this is not hell, then what is?"

Well, we're about to find out, it seems :wonderland:

I also feel like it's inevitable that we get something regarding Zoro's eye. I mean, it's really fucking weird that he just came back from the timeskip with 1 eye and it hasn't been addressed EVEN ONCE. Put Luffy in the same situation, and it would be a glaring point that needs to be addressed.

And Oda could've just said that he got it while training with Mihawk, but he deliberately refused to answer questions about it during interviews

We had to wait 25 chapters to get an absolute confirmation that Zoro has King's haki, plus all the years before that. :milaugh:
The stuff is there, the fated bs, the black blade hints, dying completing a person, everyone knows that there's something with the eye, someday we'll know. :saden:
