Read somewhere on twitter. Kaido used up everything he has for the last attack to counter luffy fist resulting and removal of all flame clouds and momo picks it up later and moves it aside. Which also explains the Voilent clash between kaido and luffy stated in spoilers. But this really isn't the end. A punch won't do it.

Tbh, I am expecting Luffy to use fire attack to defeat kaido. Fitting to be in line with being the Sun. Also, kaido is vulnerable to fire.
But a bigger stronger punch lacks a punch to defeat one of the best antagonist in one piece

I think Zoro's plot needs 1 chapter to resolve it.
Kaido v. Luffy the fight itself will probably need 2 more chapters to adequately wrap it up—tonally it doesn't feel done yet.
And I'd give a Kaido flashback maybe 2 chapters, 3 at most.
So even with the potential for Awakening, I don't see this surpassing 1055.

Well people often use awakening when they have nothing left. Like law and Kidd did they said they can't do much but still ended up pulling awakening moves. Same with luffy fully exhausted and then pulled awakening. Maybe similar could be dome to kaido when he exhaust himself fully he awakens. And kaido really do need something big for defending against that big punch. Like all his attacks till now won't help.

Luffy punch throws kaido to the ground. Everyone shocks to see kaido in that state.
To them, luffy did it. Kaido is lying down covered in the dust.
In onigshima it will send waves of shock among beast pirates while alliance will start celebrating.
On ground, people of wano would be confused, scared before knowing that kaido is defeated
But then kaido will rise again...Awakened form saying "No one pushed me enough to be awakened"

Just saw the Boruto recent episode aired hours ago. Man even a Bartlomeo episodes were better animated than boruto series

Or maybe end battle may come down to just haki battle. Base luffy vs base kaido.
