His EL power-up was partially about haki (Asura is COC related)
His 2 years training had heavy focus on haki

His Wano power-up was all about haki
Anyone that argue that haki isn't part of swordsmanship is either not reading the series or is intellectually dishonest.

What about zoro who uses haki, has adv.coc and use it like shanks? After zoro defeats Mihawk, no one gonna say Mihawk is stronger than zoro in swordskill.

Everytime we saw Shanks he used a sword and literally the best of them is Mihawk. It means simply Mihawk > Shanks.

It's over, move on lol.

Mihawk has a lower bounty, was portrayed fighting YC and looking up to measure the distance from WB and is destined to ultimately fight a subordinate.
Shanks is a CoC SPECIALIST like Luffy, Zoro may have CoC but he isn't a specialist and is so limited as CoC cannot be trained.

We have come a long way from "Fraudhawk got scared by the SSG and sought protection from Buggy" to him literally keeping Buggy alive as his and Corocdiles servant and scapegoat. And the clap back was immediately! Like holy shit! It legit seems Oda caught wind of people taking the Buggy gag too serious and thought "nah let me fix that real quick!" this chapter!

For real.
Gotta give props to Oda, he wrote this scenario where it's believable that Croc and Mihawk would make Buggy the figurehead and consequently why the marines would make him an emperor, all while keeping both the Buggy gag and character integrity intact.

Shanks has two combat interactions in the story thus far. BOTH involve his sword Gryphon. Blocking Akainu from killing Coby and clashing

Swordsmanship. It's not that complicated. Mihawk is the WSS. Prior to this chapter, it was not known of Shanks or him won their duels, but this chapter at least makes it clear he is the better Swordsman, which is...obvious lol


So the question really boils down to: is Shanks' prowess only related to Swordsmanship? We can see he made an Admiral run purely from Haki alone, but he's only actually fought with a sword
I guess that question will be up to Oda.

For the record, I have no issues with Mihawk being stronger or a better swordsman lol, its really irrelevant to my conversations about Shanks. What I care more about is his goals and potential antagonism. If he is as complex as Oda insinuates he is, and has an established conflict with Luffy, I could care less if he's the next person to go down or the last. I just want a good character lol.

Zoro vs Mihawk is 100% Zoro's last fight. The REAL question is....who's Luffy's?

You cant have someone with swordsmanship and no Haki in the new world.
