That’s part of the problem, this chapter made Blackbeard look like an idiot: he came to get Boa for fuck all reasons, got everyone stoned DESPITE knowing her abilities, got surprised by a Pacifista which Luffy would have no issues with, failed to get Boa cause he didn’t even challenge Rayleigh, ran away with a Marine.

BB is supposed to be the calculated one, and this chapter hasn’t showed it. Regardless of the Coby reasoning, it already looks bad.

In regards to the Pacifista, Luffy dealt with the original ones, not the new who are said to be far more formidable.

And you have to remember how easily Blackbeard, and so many OP characters, get distracted and lower their guard.

Coby isn't that important to them. He's very strong for his rank and have some reputation but he's not that big or important as an asset to the Marines and WG this far.

And the WG has already shown how they deal with disasters, far worse than Coby being captured, and they were willing to cover up things far worse such as Doflamingo's actions at Dressrosa until Fujitora screwed their plans or the mass break out at Impel Down.
