I think what people should also pay attention to is the Speed lines .
So it's not only Burgess pick up a huge mountain , it's also that he had no trouble throwing it fast as hell .
Which also make it even more impressive .

I've also recognized that Burgess lifted the largest mountain on panel and he managed to shake the island as well when he ripped the mountain off from the ground.
Yep, he also threw it very fast onto Law and Co. That's some monstrous raw strength.

Yep, it didn't do the feat justice since Oda chose a more asian-looking mountain structure for this island. However, in one panel you can see that these mountains are actually large and tall. Like that:

This panel showcases the mountains at the background in comparison to the actual hills which are clearly significantly smaller than these. And Burgess lifted and threw one of these. And in this panel:

See the bottom left corner of the panel, Law destroyed this mountain and you can perfectly see the other mountains as well as a part of the island's shape. There is a clear distinction between the hills/forests and the mountains.

I wouldn't even mind the fact that Burgess' body is visible in front of the carried mountain. That's just Oda's way to show the character's position. We got plenty of these examples in Dressrosa and Wano.

There is nothing like Asian looking mountains. Such distinction is just based on where they found.

Mountains are more conical in shape with much larger extent (vertically and horizontally) (Example of mountain in Japan)

Hills though vary in shape but also could be somewhat rounded just like what we have in the chapter. (Example of hills in Japan)

Look at other examples of hills

Obviously, hills also varies in size and thus we can see why there were some distinction visible in the chapter.


Based on what we have seen in the chapter, it appears he lifted a hill and not mountain but as you highlighted it's the scaling and design issue otherwise Oda intention is to hype it as mountain lifting.

Nah Shanks is way too weak to pose a threat to an Admiral, any YC would one shot Shanks with a free hit given that civilians can injure him. His CoC can annoy an Admiral but nothing more, Shanks lacks the power to actually hurt an Admiral when even Yamato couldn’t injure Ryokugyu.

I’m a big Shanks fan but objectively speaking, the man scales below Big Mom who stands no chance against an Admiral.
