Alright let's try to change the subject. How do you guys feel about the rapid advancement of AI. Just yesterday I used a voice AI that was able to clone my voice perfectly. It is impressive as it is scary.
At this stage, it's can greatly reduce workload for artists/grapic/concept artists and speed up development time for games. AI takes an existing artwork from the internet and rapidly redrawn it. Not as good as the original but passible, and all worker has to do with modify the image.

Later on, it can take over jobs and put people out of work.

Idk how I feel about it. I understand your point but I don't think it'll be that good tbh.

So I've been considering converting to Judaism. Been going to a synagogue for the past few weeks.
And it kinda bothers me the extent to which some jewish organizations support Israel.

Like I get it, I understand the history of zionism and why Israel was founded. But this isn't the 1940s anymore. While antisemitism still exists, jews aren't being massively persecuted in the west anymore. The state of Israel exists and it has been going strong for 75 years.

Its just really hard for me to see what the Israeli government is doing in Palestine, in regards to the occupation, and the violence and discrimination against Palestinians, and pretend that this is somehow in line with how G-d and the Torah want jews to behave.

Yet I've seen so many american synagogues that feel the need to openly state their support for Israel. Why? What does it mean to "support Israel"? Why should I, as an American(jew or otherwise), feel any loyalty to a foreign country? Israel isn't under attack, they have the backing of the american military and the people who oppose them have far weaker capabilities.

Anyways, I'm not on the side of Hamas. I don't think Israel needs to be "pushed into the ocean". I just think that the world is big enough for everybody, for Israelis and Palestinians, for Jews and Muslims. I know technically, I'm not a jew yet, but they are the people I've chosen to associate myself with. I think as the "chosen people", jews have a responsibility to try to create a better world for everybody.

I think part of that is that you have a responsibility to call out evil when you see it. I don't know what else you can call Israel's actions in the west bank, apart from evil.

Any religion can be turned into a power instrument

Part of it is that the US sends a considerable amount of money to Israel on a yearly basis, which of course comes from tax-payers.

It's quite ironic that the people who have been persecuted for the better part of our collective history have now become the persecutors. The level of straight up apertheid levels of evil they commit against civilians is abhorent.

They used this new AI voice program to recreate Sir Alec Guinness' voice to a t.
And this puts the future of voice actors in jeopardy. Why waste money on voice actors when you can just used an AI to match the tone, pitch and execution of whatever line you want?

Companies are always looking to more profit and cutting costs and worker wages are one of their biggest liabilities. Its gonna happen if this continues.

As someone who has worked in the entertainment and media industry, this is beyond worrying. Audio is hilarious tho.

It's similar to CGI and it's affect on stuntman work. Many companies switched to CGI because it's faster and less costly, and they can bust out many projects in a single year without having to worry too much about production delays.

Its not just synagogues, many evangelical chruches also take supporting Israel as part of their agenda and sermons. And while I know some jews who aren't zionist/ are sympathetic to palestinians, they are much more likely to support zionism.

Attachment to Israel
Nearly six-in-ten U.S. Jews say they are either very emotionally attached (25%) or somewhat emotionally attached (32%) to the modern state of Israel. The share of adults who are at least somewhat attached to Israel is twice as high among Jews by religion (67%) as among Jews of no religion (33%).

If you wish to convert to judaism, then you will most likely come in contact with religious jews, and so you will be in contact with zionists.

So its really up to you what to do.
