Wasnt his point though.his point was that transgenders are oppressed and there are sociological studies about it.

Doesnt have anything to do with the topic at hand, but that was what he was saying
The point is that so called "transracialism" is a term that:
1. Describes a fantasy and offensive behavior
2. Is used to deligitimize trans people

Hence why I speak about trans being oppressed here in opposition to so called "transracialist"

then yeah its hilarious

transgender would be the same as me claiming to be the richest guy in the world if it were to be a spcia; state

I can bet anything that you get what I m saying here and think that I m mocking transpeople
What a way to say that you don't understand what I'm saying.

Gender is a social construct based off both social factors and biologicals ones. Throughout history there has been people who have been "trans" or "non binary", so this isn't a recent development.

Throughout history there have been many mental illnesses. Why do we ascribe an identity to this one?

Eh, I think him and I were having two different conversations anyway.

However, oppression does not make it legitimate anyway. Actions that deviate from the social norm will almost always result in ostracization. What I don't get is why are transgender people so special that the world must conform to them?

The topic wasnt about who is oppressed or not

Is there any proof this is a mental illness? Do we just call anything that is out of the norm an illness?
Because being trans is not a freaking mental illness.
The fact that they have such a high suicide rate, high rates of depression, and that their behaviours deviate from normal human convention. Gender dysphoria was considered a mental illness. I argue it still should be. Why are we equating ILL to BAD?

I fell into the same ideation. I had trans thoughts since I was 5 years old. I was your archetypical trans person, and lo-and-behold, I realised it was a mistake when my depression and anxiety got better.

My anxiety wasn't caused by GD. My GD was caused by anxiety.

The reason I'm so adamant on this is because doctors push for more and more lenient checks on this which will sterilise people unnecessarily and mutilate them.

They arent

Iirc it was called gender identity disorder before.

But yeah, psychological distress over the mismatch of biological sex and self identity sounds very much like a medical condition

The fact that they have such a high suicide rate, high rates of depression,
couldn't that be because society tends to be hostile towards trans individuals

I don't think ill= bad, but you cant act like "illness" doesn't have a negative connotation. If we were to prove that trans people are born with a "x gene" that makes to be closer to their identifying gender than the birth one I would be fine to call it a condition instead

Agreed. Why is 'transphobia' as a term a thing?

People across the course human history has abhorred deviation.
We don't agree with pedos.
We don't agree with murderers.
Heck, people rarely put up with the ugly or those who suffer from dwarfism.
But Transgender is a protected class despite it's deviation? Fuck off.

That tends to be the argument. But to me it was inverse. And I am in a detransitioning group of many others who've been harmed by this.

We cannot prove it (a gene), and if we could, it would have already been done. It's likely not. Why are so many more identifying as trans? It's social contagion and conditioning.

There are a lot more trans people who are okay with their new identity than de-transitioners. I am not going to dismiss your experience but you are by all definitions a minority of a minority.

As someone who was told by the NHS doctor I still see that the real statistic is roughly 30-40% who leave the service (detransition), we're not a minor minority. You can't talk about shit like this without the LGBTQIA+ community and lobbyists calling you a monster.
