Actually, that got me wondering if he really got lost THAT many times or it just seems so.

Yes, we haven't been shown that this is an advanced form of COO and not just normal COO. Upon awakening COO:

• Usopp could see auras.
• Coby could hear people's emotions.

Why not being able to feel the breath for Zoro? It seems like a COO feat, but there hasn't been indication that it's an advanced COO feat. The only advanced form of COA known is future sight.

Well, the normal CoO can only feel living things or things that have will/intent imbued in them so Zoro feeling things like rocks is certainly an advanced type of observation even if not clarified because those things shouldnt be detectable by regular CoO.
Feeling the emotions is also probably an advanced form of Observation since it goes beyond presence/intent which are basics.

Nah. Coby could feel emotions instantly. COO just manifests in different forms. There isn't good cause to attribute advanced COO to non future sight uses of COO. Only future sight has been portrayed as the next level.

Because Zoro was not merely able to sense the boulders that are falling on him, but he could knew where the boulders wouldn't fall.
